any advice for gas?

My LO has what I would call extreme gas.  I'm pretty sure she has a milk protien intolerance so I'm BF with a dairy free diet, but she still farts all the time and sometimes very loudly. Many times she wakes herself up at night with it and it's hard to get her back to sleep. I use Gripe water and that helps some but is there anything else I can do so she's not so gassy and therefore crabby? We have our 4 month well baby check next week, but I'm about exaushted with this gas issue

Re: any advice for gas?

  • I used the Little Tummies Gas drops and they seemed to work well. You can also google baby massage for gas and find some good techniques. Ask your pedi about probiotics.

  • thanks ladies I will try the colic calm and the little tummies. i think the gas drops I used were walmarts generic brand so we'll see.
  • My LO struggled with this for quite a while until I eliminated dairy from my diet. I also used little tummies drops. But something that worked very well was a tummy massage with baby oil. Every night as part of our bedtime routine I laid him on his changing table and stripped him down to his diaper. After I oiled up my hands real good I massaged his entire core....belly, sides, back, etc with gentle but firm pressure. It made quite a difference. Good luck.
