Where were you when your water broke?

Today is my due date and as I was blow drying my hair, I just envisioned it happening right there. Or, when I go to bed I think, maybe I'll wake up to a wet bed!? Just a bit of wishful thinking I suppose!

Anyone have any funny/embarrassing stories they wish to share?

I don't think most have their water break before delivery, but I think about this all the time too. Especially now that I'm overdue!

There was someone with an awesome story about it breaking in the elevator. I now think of that every time I see an elevator.

Mine is boring I was in bed and woke up leaking. But I did always imagine it happening while I was grocery shopping or something!

I was in a hospital bed all three times. Lol. Almost ready to push. Which bummed me out, because I think it would be cool to have a caul baby.

I was doing a maternity shoot about 6 weeks ago when my clients water broke. Thankfully, it was a concrete floor because it went everywhere.

Mine is boring too. I was just admitted to LnD because of my horrible contractions that were 2 mins apart. Once I laid on the bed POP my water broke and was gushing out everywhere.

It was pretty gross actually.

Nothing exciting. I had crawled into bed for the night and hubby got into bed after. When I turned over to talk to him my water broke. What a mess!

First time, boring. Small leak in bed at 3am.

Second time, embarrassing/exciting. Gushed all over the floor at work. I was on my way back to my desk from the copier and felt it. I ran for the bathroom but didnt make it before it splashed all over the floor. I was quite the topic of conversation that day.

Everything about the twins' birth was just a little crazy.

With my first I was walking down my hallway and it broke. This time they broke it in the hospital. Which was awful. I found it painful and it was gross sitting there leaking.

It broke in my bathroom and poured all over the floor while I was on the phone with the ob's office trying to figure out if I should go to L&D. They said yes after that happened, lol.

With DD they broke my water. This time with DS they were trying to prep me for my spinal and csec when I said I felt his feet. They had me lay down to check and said I was at a 9 and yes his feet were right there so they needed to hurry. I sat back up and it gushed all over. I said my water just broke and now I REALLY feel his feet, they had me lay down and had to put me under because the spinal would take too long. Poor DH was waiting in the hall to come in when they came out to tell him DS was born already.

With my first the mw broke it at 3 cm. horrible feeling
With number 2 it broke on its own at 3:30 am in bed
With reed it was broken by doctor during my induction
I much prefer it to break on its own

Mine is not exciting either, although I was pretty excited at the time. Lol. I woke up at 3 am mid-gush. It took me a little while to decide if it was my water or if I had peed the bed. After 3 fairly large gushes and a constant trickle, I decided it was definitely my water.

Mine broke on the toilet in the labor room right after I walked into L&D. Turns out I was complete and ready to start pushing.

First half of mine broke in the bathroom at my house and the second half broke in the elevator at L&D. I was on my way back home where I didn't stay long because the second gush really brought on the painful contractions. I ran to the bathroom and yelled for my husband to tell someone about the mess. It was a really uncomfortable car ride back home!

Every time I did something fun, such as going through a corn maze, I kept thinking it would be funny if it broke there. Hope it breaks soon for you!

They broke mine at the hospital. The funny part is that it squirted everywhere when I pushed her out. DH ended up with soaked shirt!

I was in the hospital bed starting my "practice" pushes. DH said my mucus plug flew out and then my water gushed during the first push. Felt the water of course but had no idea about my mp until DH told me. Especially since I'd been losing pieces for the 4 days prior

Mine was in the hospital. I was being monitored b/c I was having contractions 3 minutes apart but had no cervical progress. They were going to send me home if there was still nothing in an hour. I had a particularly painful contraction and couldn't decide whether I wanted to sit or stand. So I had one leg folded on the bed and was standing on the other.

I told DH that I wasn't sure if I just pissed myself or my water broke.

In my hallway as I was walking to my bedroom to get ready for work. I had just woken up and peed and though maybe I was so tired I was still peeing? But it was a gush on the floor. Totally took me by surprise. No pop, no feeling.

In bed. I woke up and knew it was broken. I told dh to get a towel. I stayed on my side until he put the towel between my legs. Surprisingly enough, not much got on the bed at all.

I was in the hospital bed at about 8cm when they broke it. I didn't really feel it. MH saw it and said it was disgusting. Lol

Mine didn't break until we got to the hospital and I was lying in bed. It was just a trickle. I had a second bag however, and when that one broke it made a small pond. You could hear it!

With my 1st son my water broke at the beginning of labor, withmy daughter and 2nd son it broke when I sat up after a NST and with my 4th baby and 3rd son I was dilated to 8.5cm and 2 min later with my next contraction my water broke and I finished dialating to 10cm and it was time to push.

I was in the hospital, just got my epidural an hour before...i felt a pop and wetness. I looked at my husband and said that I thought my cathider (sp) came out and now i'm peeing on myself...despite me telling him not to, he looked down there and said my water broke...

Mine broke in bed. I woke up and was flipping to my other side to relieve hip pain and I thought I wet myself. I got up and ran to the bathroom so fast it woke DH up. But it was a slower leak, nothing dramatic.

In the middle of an afternoon nap. I rolled over and felt the pop and immediately knew. Thankfully I felt it and jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I managed to keep the bed dry but did leave a trail to the bathroom.

This was me too. It was just a little at first and I thought I was peeing myself again. Stood up and soaked my pants, pad and it went running down my legs. I hadn't moved to fast to get to the toilet in months!

Mine broke at 8.5cm and less than a minute later I was fully dilated and it was time to push to late for the epi to kill the pain which was Trumped by the pain down there as I tried to push him out and finally decided to push through the pain, I have a scar, a half inch un stitched tear and abrasions down there now but my baby is Okay and I love him, he was worth the pain, so cute and adorable. Smart and strong.

Mine is a little different... I had a precipitous labor and we had to pull over in a gas station parking lot and call an ambulance about halfway to the hospital after I went from contractions 5 mins apart to 30 seconds and pushing over the course of 15 minutes. My water broke in transit from the back of my car to the stretcher in the gas station parking lot. Not sure how many bystanders there were because I was totally oblivious to my surroundings at the time!

With DD I was walking around in the beginning of labor when my water broke.

With DS I was leaking, but my OB broke it for me towards the end of my labor.
