Hi Ladies - An update on me (birth story)

I can't remember what I last posted.

I went in the hospital on August 19th for the second time with preeclampsia. My 2nd 24 hour urinalysis showed my protein jumped from 300 to 3000. At this point I was starting to have headaches that Tylenol wouldn't touch and started seeing floaters.  Thankfully my blood work was good enough for me to hold off a couple days.  

On August 21 at 7:24am, my little girl Naomi was born by c-section. She was 3lbs14oz 17 inches. Because I was first time mom and was 32 weeks 3 days, the Dr. didn't want to put me and her through 20 hours of labor.  Csection wasn't bad, at all...now it's been painful recovery, but not bad. Even the spinal block wasn't that big of a deal. 

Naomi went to the NICU, of course, and is still there. I didn't get to see her til 5 that night because I was struggling from the magnesium drip they had me on. 

That magnesium drip is EVIL!

She is doing amazing.  Because I had the steroids in Hospital stay #1, she was off all oxygen assistance within 24 hours.  She is now starting to regulate her temperature, and is off all IVs.  Now we need her to gain a little weight and start eating by her mouth.  She has a feeding tube in her nose, but we're planning to start with a bottle tomorrow.  We've had her at my nipple, but I'm really struggling in the breastfeeding dept.  The Dr said the fact I'm on blood pressure meds could be part of the problem, plus her being early and just overall stress of it all.

So these days I'm spending most of my time at the NICU, which is part of the reason I haven't been around.  That and the fact she isn't exactly an October baby.
