Hi ladies!
To say this week has been crazy is an understatement! My induction went perfectly, foley bulb went in Friday evening, we reported back to the hospital at 7:30 the next morning when they broke my water and started me in the oxytocin. Labour came on fast and hard, I started vomiting and the contractions were every three minutes. I wanted to wait as long as possible for the epi, but lasted about an hour and a half. The epi was magical! I hate needles and was really afraid but when you're in that much pain a giant needle in the back sounds great!
After the epi went in I was able to nap and rest all day. I was able to feel the contractions still and move my legs around a bit, but felt no pain. I started to push at about 6:30 pm and at 7:18 my baby girl Blythe Karen was born! She was tiny at 6 lbs 7 oz and 20.5 inches long. Since she's in the 8th percentile for her weight we stayed an extra night in the hospital so they could monitor her blood glucose levels, which she passed every time! She's perfect and healthy! I got a second degree tear and a bunch of little first degree tears, so I'm still a little ouchy. And even after all the books I read and preparation, nothing really prepares you for bringing home this new little person! It's absolutely wonderful though and she just melts my heart.
She already has daddy wrapped around her teeny little fingers.
