I know gifs by themselves aren't spam. I enjoy them and post them occasionally myself. They are spam when they're posted repeatedly by the same person to fill up a thread and have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, especially when you brag about having gif wars.

I don't care to engage in a pissy fit with anyone on here. If you're here to be entertained, great. If you're here to mess with people who are here to get information and find common ground, you're more likely than I am to find yourself at odds with the site's rules. If you're so concerned about me getting shut out for TOS violations, perhaps you should check it out and undersand it for yourself first.

Gifs are not spam. Sorry you don't like them clogging up a post but they don't fit the definition of spam. If you keep tagging people with spam because of a stupid gif you will be banned before they are. Just ignore the, if you don't like them, but stop missing the tag button. It causes mods (who are not paid) a lot of headache because you don't know the definition of spam. People have told you over and over you are wrong about this just let it go, and stop tagging gifs

Directly from the bump this might be helpful for a few on here So, what's up with the "flag" button? All members will have the ability to anonymously report posts that will now come directly to both moderator and admin attention. Keep in mind that we will review and take appropriate actions. This flagging option is NOT to be used as a “dislike” button or on posts that may disagree with you, etc. The Bump will keep records of all reported posts and handle abusers of this flagging privilege individually. In addition to flagged posts, we will continue to address any violations of our Community Rules. Review them here. What should I flag?: Spam- Any posts advertising services Harassment- If you feel a user is harassing a member to an extreme level. Online Vandalism- Posts designed to raise a user’s post count. Personal Information- Any post where a person’s personal information is being given without their consent. This includes name, telephone number, address, email address, work information, etc. Impersonating Other Members/The Bump Employees- Any username designed to be a copy of another user’s name or Knot Employee. I know it's subjective. You flag your way, I'll flag mine. In the mean time, I'm not sure why you think you get to tell me what to do. I didn't have a public tantrum. I hit the flag button and decided to let mods take care of it. Funny, I haven't been punished yet.

I'm sorry I disagree. Gif wars, while they may be snarky in intent, typically lighten up the boards when they are full of CRAZY. Whether it happens within a thread or on a new thread they are in no way spam or harassment. No one wants to see the flag or spam buttons abused because they are not intended that way. I think it is completely appropriate to call others out on using them incorrectly even it's simply to educate.

Honest question @jap618- do you think they're actually trying to be helpful/educational? It comes off more like a pathetic display of claiming bump supremacy, which I really don't understand. Congratulations, you've spent more time on a public message board. Is that what I should want to say?

PP is correct. They are not to 'fill up a thread' or keep people from 'getting information'. We do them in threads that have already devolved into pointless nonsense, as a reward for anyone who actually slogs through 14 fucking pages of ridiculousness. They are a sign that the discussion has gotten silly and is going nowhere. Ignore them and continue your important information gathering if you choose to do so.

@KNSATX I do not know their intent or honestly even remember your original call out. Doing so in GIF form is again snarky but light hearted. I wouldn't read too much into it. As for bump supremacy there are ladies that are more comfortable and knowledgeable about the rules/TOS and that have been here much longer than others. Others that have been around longer know more of the active, long timers and are more comfortable doing things that newbies most likely wouldn't think of (i.e. posting on a board that isn't there). Again, it's a public forum and anyone can post anywhere. Ok I'm rambling but I think you should just wave your white flag if you ever want the gif parties to end (well in this thread anyways). Learn to play along or don't read? But please do not misuse spam/flag buttons.
