Alrighty. Where to start?? We went on vacation about 2 weeks ago and hubby left before DS and I did (visiting my family) bc he had to go back to work. Anyways, I physically pay all the bills when they are due. I'm talking- he has no clue when his truck payment is even due every month. Ok so I forgot to write checks and send with him to drop off so I had to text him and tell him amounts, who to pay, and where to go to pay on THREE bills. He's complaining about that so I told him I would pay everything else on line.
Well I get back from vacation pretty much on Monday. He comes home from work on Tuesday and we go check the mail later that night while we are out and about. I'm going thru the mail and there is a late notice from one of the banks he was supposed to make a payment to. So I'm like freaking out asking why he didn't pay the bill etc etc. All while going thru (in my head) what I've already seen online at the bank. I remembered seeing his payment. So I'm ripping open this late notice and looking at the amount and thinking "hmmm weird, that's a different amount than its supposed to be". So I'm looking at the loan number and think, "hmmm even weirder, I don't recognize that one." So I'm beyond confused. Even check to see if they sent it to the right person. Sure enough they did. So finally I'm scouring over the notice again when up at the top I see "*cosigner*"
I lost it. I turn to him and say very calmly, "did you cosign on a loan for somebody?" ..... And he gives me an "oh shit" face and says, "mom and dad"
OH MY GOD!!!! Are you kidding me right now? You consigned on a note for people who don't work and live off disability checks (that they get the 3rd of the month and blow by the 8th) and start asking you or your spouse for money shortly after it runs out? Smart.
The loan was taken out July 8th. First payment due August 8th. Guess what. Very first payment was LATE!
So DL#2 calls Inlaws and starts griping at them to pay their bills.... Yah ok!!!!!
I've been working for 3 very long years to repair credit. It's because of me that he can even cosign on a loan and he does this shit behind my back. Who does that? You are married dillweed! You don't make decisions like that without consulting or informing your spouse. He says "it was only $500".
It's not the amount that matters. It matters that you did it behind my back and purposefully did not tell me about it.
And the kicker is, I'm not even on the note so I can't call and make sure that its paid before it gets turned over to collections....
Re: Can hubby be DL #2?? Long rant!
BIL has 2 girls they kept constantly for 2 years bc their mom and dad were always to messed up to watch them.
Not only are they not raising my kid, it's like we are freaking raising them too!!
Right?? Not be blindsided by a friggin late notice.
I would bend over backwards if my parents ever needed help - but not without telling my husband! I'm so sorry!
