Ultrasound at 7 weeks--will I see much?

I have an ultrasound today because my doctor wanted to get me in early due to some underlying conditions. I'm very excited to hopefully see my baby and hear the heartbeat, but I'm trying to be realistic about what I can expect.

What are the odds I'll hear the heart beat? If I don't at this far along, is that normal?

    You can usually see the heart beating in the 6th week so you should be able to see something. 

    ETA: just remember that this is always a possibility that your dates can be off unless you had IUI or IVF.

    I saw the hb at 6w2d, at my 9w appointment she said she might be able to get the hb so we can hear it but often times its not picked up until 9.5 weeks

    Just had mine yesterday at 7w3d and saw the little bean! I won't lie, it was just a little blob, but you could see him/her and clearly see the gestational sac as well. Also, we did see the tiny flutter of a heartbeat and got to hear it as well. Totally surreal feeling, I can't believe that little growing being is in me!

    Good to know - I have an appointment tomorrow and will be at 7w1d.  They didn't specifically say they'd be doing an ultrasound, but I'm hoping.  Good luck @hordol!

    Echoing what everyone else said, you should be able to see the heartbeat. We saw our beans at 6w 3d.

    I went at 7 weeks 1 day and mine looked like a little tadpole. At six weeks I also had a sono, but all you could see then was a heart beat. Growing like crazy!

    My appointment was at exactly 6 weeks and we could see the little flutter of the heartbeat!!!  We also had and internal sonogram done!  Good luck!!!!

    I just had my ultrasound this morning thinking I was 6 weeks 2 days and I was really 5 weeks 6 days. So a few days off, and they saw a heart beat!!! You will be just fine! Best of luck girl :-)

    I had mine at 7w2d Clearly saw heart beating and baby looked like a jelly bean:)
