D&C scheduled for Friday, bleeding started...

I'm supposed to be 9 weeks today and the US showed almost 7 weeks and no heartbeat, I've been spotting (brown) for almost 2 weeks, we scheduled the D&C for Friday am, now it's switched to light bleeding that's dark dark red, should I still plan for the D&C? I am heartbroken but was looking forward to getting this over! If I am miscarrying naturally, can I go to work? I have a moderately physical job but was able to get through the entire issue of an ectopic pregnancy with methotrexate in March without missing any work, noone could tell anything was going on (I'm very private at work...)? Can anyone offer any advice?

    I agree with ktlovess. I would let your doctor know but you might still need an ultrasound or exam to find out if you passed all the tissue. I MC naturally at home and my doctor had me come in later that day for a scan and confirmed that I had passed everything. Also I had some uncomfortable cramps AFTER passing everything and I was glad that I was at home. I hope that everything goes ok for you whichever way it happens and I pray for some peace and comfort for you!

    I've been at work all week dealing with a natural MC. I go to the restroom often, keep changing pads, wear black pants, and I'm taking it easy. The pain isn't too bad for me. I get bad cramps, but the back pain is the worst for me. So you can go to work. Some people would rather deal with it at home, but I just don't want to be at home depressed. I would rather be a work so my mind can be occupied. I'm so sorry. xoxoxoxo

    I'm so sorry you are going thought this too. I'm also scheduled for a d&c this Friday, but I haven't had any bleeding. I spotted once over a week ago but nothing since. I have been feeling overly nausea and sick, so my doctor gave me medicine to help me be able to eat. I hope that your bleeding is a sign that you might not need the d&c. Best of luck to you.

    Thanks for all the replies! It's comforting to me to hear that everyone deals with this differently, it makes me feel like there's no wrong choice, that I should make decisions that work best for me. I put a call into the doctor, waiting to hear back. I also asked for a prescription for something for anxiety, I'm a wreck, I feel like I won't be able to even do the paperwork without blowing a gasket, hope they don't think I'm a wuss but I get super anxious at just a normal dr visit, the hospital is my worst nightmare!
