CPT: How many kids do you want to have?

Even if you don't agree with DH or haven't yet decided together... how many kids do YOU want to have?

I put two because that's feeling more and more like we could be done. But I am not ready to commit to only two and not one more yet. I need to give birth and see how we feel as a family of four before I can make that decision.

That's what we did with this one. When I was PG with #3, I wasn't sure I felt "done" so DH and I decided to talk about it again when Reid was one. Ha! Now here I am halfway through my pregnancy by his first birthday.

I want 4! All of my and DH's parents came from families of 4, we both have 1 sibling each. The more the merrier, I want a big family.

I picked two because if we have girl next we are done. But we've decided if the next one is a boy as well we'd try for a girl and go three but three is our max not matter the sex of the third.

I said three - DH has said he could be done with two but now that we are having a second boy I think he is changing his mind a little. If we go for three it would be a chance for a girl - but we would know that we would also be very happy with three boys.

I always pictured myself the mom of three boys so if that happens I will be very happy.

we've always both talked as if we were having 3. Never really officially discussing it. Depending on how things are in life... I might not be against 4, but that would be the absolute MAX for me. Right now I'm pretty sure 3 is the "plan" though.

I want 2 -- h says "two or three" -- I told him we need to make it through the first 2 and then we can have an open discussion surrounding child number 3.

Honestly -- we got a bit of a later start than I thought we would too -- and we want our kids spaced out -- so I'll be over 35 by the time baby 3 is an option -- so part of it will be in the dr's hands too -- just to make sure I'm healthy enough!

Yep! She's a bumpie too... we were pregnant together with #1 and #2 (for me) and #2 and #3 (for her). She's due December 30th, I think... I'm pretty sure she's exactly 1 month before me. And I love her girl names as well. Sawyer is actually on our list and Reese would have been, if it wasn't my niece's name. I'm thinking they'll use a name like Monroe or Wren or something like that

(No clue though... I'm excited to hear what they pick!)

Um... Special snowflake... I kinda only wanted just the one I already have. Being 'diagnosed' with unexplained fertility I was like, we'll that's ok.

That being said, its obvious this sweet little one that is growing inside me is meant for us. So it's mine. And no one else's ;-) and just because I wanted one doesn't mean I'll love this lil thing any less. I'm beyond excited/terrified/in love already.

So since I have this second one and obviously want it, even though I wasn't planning on more, DOES that mean my answer is two? And I've over thought this and confused myself.

I thought about this answer when I asked the question! I'm somewhat in a similar situation, as we wanted 3, but got a surprise 4th (that we may have eventually had anyway??) I answered 4... because I obviously want this little bugger now that it's coming.

Interesting...I have heard Aidan as a boy name but not a girl. DH's cousin named their boy Aiden.

Yeah, her first daughter's name is Aidan Kincaid and they call her AidKaid... I think it's cute! I love love love Sawyer, Reese and Miller! My last name starts with an "M" so I try to stay away from "M" first names (I really like Monroe for a girl too... boo.)

I put 4, but seriously considered 5. It's hard to put a number on it, but I am open to a big family. however, i think as a ftm i will need to re-evaluate after the first one is born.

I picked 2 but we honestly have no idea. I'm 25 and DH is 27, we've got a ton of time but we both like being semi younger parents and the idea that we'll still be fairly young when kids are out of the house. But since this LO is most likely another girl I'd possibly be interested in trying one more time for a boy...But DH and I have agreed we are at least waiting 2 years this time- being pregnant 2 summers in a row has totally sucked! I just want a break for a little bit and for life to settle down a little before we think about more. See how life is as a family of 4 before we decide anything. Plus, we'd most likely need to move and buy new cars to have another baby..so we are definitely waiting before making a decision.

We are planning on two, but I guess we have to see how this one goes. The cost of living is so expensive now my H panics we won't be able to ever retire!

We were going to be one and done, depending upon how difficult it would be for us to conceive and how my body handled pregnancy (due to my high risk status).

DH was afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle this disappointment of iF, or, God forbid, if a loss happened.

Now that we are at the halfway point, DH has been saying more and more, "When we go to have our second baby..."

We wanted 4 but we're now stopping at 3. Having them all so close is nice because no one's left out, but I'm not sure i could handle 4u5 and I don't want anyone stuck out alone on the end if we were to wait for 4. So we're quitting while the spacing is exactly what we wanted.

I put four because that's what DH and I have always discussed. But, knowing we have a 1 in 4 chance of CF with every pregnancy, that number may be changing; or we may be changing how we'll get there (ie adoption maybe). It's a bridge that we just aren't ready to approach yet.

I always wanted an extra sibling since it's just me and my sister but my parents have always said they were set with the two of us. So with that said, I selected 3 but again I'll see how everything goes with this first baby and how DH and I adjust our lives. We've always talked about having at least 2 since we each have one sibling but I'd entertain the thought of more than 2 anyday!

I put 3, but I always wanted 4. DH absolutely does not want four, so I took it down to three. Although, there is a good chance that we will only have two. It's hard to determine how many kids you want when you are having kids. A few years ago, I was all "I'm having four kids" and now, I just don't know anymore.

So, we are going to have this baby, talk about having (or not having) another one, and then go from there.

Definitely two and through. I can't imagine having more than that. I would also be okay with one if DH really doesn't want two or God forbid we had issues with secondary infertility. We are seeing how things go with the first and will then reassess.

I have always wanted 4, ever since I was a small child. DH came from a big family. He originally wanted 6, but has since come around to 4. We are actually hoping that we have another set of twins (Cray, I know) but hopefully next time it will be girls.

I won't say no if we are blessed with more than 4 though. I feel that God will give us what we can handle and give us the ability to provide for them.

When I was younger I wanted a house full. However I didn't get married until I was 35. We had our dd at 37 now this baby is due when I'm 40. Time, money and honestly the biggest factor morning sickness & daily migraines have changed my mind. We are two and through.

@mrsjenni -- Is that a blogger friend? I've followed a blog off and on for years with four girls, and I think I saw elsewhere that she is pregnant with #5, but not sure if it is a girl.
