One-year-old photos

How do the rest of you do it?!?!

We took Charlotte to a local farm yesterday evening for her one-year-old pictures. At no point did she just sit and smile. She totally ignored the photographer and just walked around, checking out the farm stuff, eating gravel, shoving her face in the grass, etc.

The photographer thought she was hilarious and I'm sure we got some decent pictures, but still!

For next time: does anyone have photo shoot tips? How do all you "momtographers" get such good pictures??

H will dance around and play with her. I sing her favorite song. Any stupid movements we can think of to make her laugh. She's pretty good for our photographer though and she's been taking pics of her since she was 11 days old. And I think just taking pictures of her often really helps.

I just saw something on pintrest that said to give your kid a piece of tape to play with. It doesn't show in pictures, and it keeps their attention.

We just took Wyatt for his pictures Sunday and he was terrible. He wanted nothing to do with staying on the back drop, looked terrified in most of the pictures and didn't smile in any of them. On the plus side it made it really easy to not spend a ton of money since we were on a budget.
