The name we're fairly sure about is Violet Emma M_ _ _ _ _ _ _. I really like it, but sometimes second-guess whether Violet is too "old lady" sounding. I'm hoping that it sounds more classic than old lady...what do you all think? Love it? Hate it?
I think the vast majority of people on this board love Violet. Although I want to like it, I just hear "violent". I prefer Viola. But no- it's not too old-lady at all.

I just had a Violet come into my work and she was adorable. Probably 2 years old, curly blonde hair, and a great big smile. I thought the name was lovely and fitting.
I work in a nursing home, and the only Violets I have ever encountered have been patients. So I guess that's why I associate the name with "old lady".....even though I love the name!
Like PP said, on sight and sound, I have to pause because my eyes and ears want to add an "n" for the more often read/heard word violent, but that may be because I've never known a Violet IRL. I don't think this would happen past the first sight or sound of learning you daughters name, and having that association with a person, so I don't think it's that big a deal.
We are thinking about this name, too! It's one of our top ones. We like it but I'm not sure it sounds like a name!? I think it is rising in popularity, though.
