Told my parents yesterday and they were both so excited they cried! It was so nice to see them so happy because this was such a surprise for us. I am so glad to be able to talk to my mom about everything. She had some tips for morning sickness that I hadn't heard yet. Just had to share because today I am soooo happy. Feels good to be getting closer to letting this cat out of the bag! Anybody have any announcement stories/ideas?
Re: Starting to tell family! Announcement stories :)
@kendramiroslaw thank you! The ones she told me that I didn't know were to not mix liquids and solids when eating, eating bananas also helped her when she couldn't eat anything else. Also crackers by the bed and eat when I wake up and then wait 20 mins to get out of bed. And to eat something on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Then I told my mom a little while later when we were all shopping at a kids clothing store and I held up a "I ❤ grandma" onesie to my belly and asked if my mom wanted to get it. She was in disbelief and then cried once I convinced her I wasn't joking.

The only people whose reactions I'm nervous about are my 10 year old niece and my SIL. My niece is currently the only grandchild and this will be a huge adjustment for her! I'm also a little nervous about my SIL. She and I aren't super close and she always tends to say the wrong thing. With my patience so thin these days due to hormones, it will be hard to bite my tongue if she says the wrong thing...

April 14 August Siggy Challenge- "This time last year.."
On the 21st my oldest son has a football game and my parents and my IL's are coming, we are going to have our boys wear shirts that say, "big brother" and see how long it takes everyone!
My mom and grandma were the best though. Im the oldest of 12 cousins and my mom's the oldest of 6 girls, so this will be the first grand and great grand. I bought my mom a onesie that said, "Grandma's little peanut." She unwrapped it and just smiled blankly at me. I was like, "that's not the smile of a woman who just found out she's going to be a grandma." She told me later she was trying to figure out how it was going to fit on my dog...then she noticed the snaps. She got all trembly and weepy and couldn't speak above a whisper when she asked me, "are you pregnant?" When I nodded she just lost it. Laughing and crying and petting the onesie. My aunts are still giving her crap that they got it before she did. And funnily enough, they all seem happier for her than they are for us, which I totally get. According to her she's been waiting eight years for this. The first thing out of her mouth when we announced our engagement? "I'm going to be a grandma!" Sheesh. Then she spent the rest of the visit petting my hair or rubbing my back or massaging my feet. *sniff sniff* love my mom.
Grandma though...she's been (half) joking for awhile that she's just holding on for a great grandchild. She's 92 but still feisty so I (mostly) dont believe her. When we were leaving he hugged me super tight and said, "I'm happy for you!"
"Thanks Grandma!"
Then she held me at arms length and said, "And I'm happy for me."
"That's good Grandma. Me too."

I seriously get teary eyed and my heart starts racing every time I think about it....
