Brag on your baby buys!

I'm curious what kind of items have/are making it into your homes in preparation for the baby? I love seeing the nursery ideas that are coming together and products we're excited about. Anyone have new/must have baby items you could share with us?!

I'm a STM with a 16 month old so I pretty much have everything I need. HOWEVER, I have been drooling over the MaMaRoos since I first saw them on Ellen a few months after DS was born. I scored a used one from a friend for $50 (retail for $200-$250) and I am stoked!

  • I'm having problems buying stuff. I haven't had a loss but they are very common in my immediate family and two of my friends just lost theirs as soon as I found out about my pregnancy so I'm paranoid.

That being said I've gotten a used boppy from a friend I paid $10 for and when I got out of the first trimester I bought some cute ducky wash cloths that were on sale for $3... For me I purchased a nursing tank on sale for $5 at wm.

I think when I have my 20 week u/s next month and start feeling movements ill be better. I'm STM with not much stuff left from my first because most of the big items were loaned to us and we had to return them when he outgrew them. I can't wait to see other things y'all post!
  • I just scored 8 bumgenius cloth diapers at a yard sale for $3 each! Also picked up a few cute outfits for $.50 each. Other than that, we found a really cool antique dresser (which will also be used a changing table) on Craigslist for $80. That's the only furniture item we've purchased so far. My MIL spurged and bought us a Phil and Teds promenade stroller with all of the accessories. It just arrived this week and it is amazing. I'm so happy she bought it for us because we are not able to spend that kind of money on a stroller. https://www.amazon.com/phil-teds-Promenade-Single-Stroller/dp/B005SASK54

  • I'm a fan of fisher -price's snug a bunny collection. I'm hoping to get the activity mat before the baby comes, and I already have everything else.

  • Technically, I didn't buy - but I am now the owner of a swing, bouncer, jumperoo, exersaucer, two playmats, a play yard, clothing (LOTS!) and bottles (I know how they were taken care of).  My friend who's babies have just outgrown them passed them on to me.

I did find an awesome deal on a rocker - less than $100!

  • We bought a Mamaroo last weekend! I had a 20% off coupon for Babies 'R' Us, plus a $5 off coupon for starting a registry, and a $25 gift card. We ended up paying $130 for it, and no sales tax since we bought it in Oregon!

We got our crib mattress and the chevron changing pad cover too!

  • I'm a STM and I haven't really started buying yet even though we only need a few things. BUT I did buy the sweetest baby sweater during Nordstrom's Anniversary sale. Looks like its sold out in Ivory so here is the blue:

I also bought some cute baby boy newborn clothes from Baby Gap during their sale a few weeks ago and a Kick & Play Piano Mat thingy because I heard major raves about it from other Moms.

  • STM so we haven't bought anything new. We are having another boy so we really don't need anything. I do need to get started on getting DS's big boy room set up soon.

  • Mostly clothes, a diaper bag and a lego set - all on sale. See pics below.

Pic 1: Kate Spade Serena black diaper bag, legos and book in the back, clothes from Uniqlo, Ross and cafepress

Pic 2: stash from babygap when they had the 40% off clearance saleimage

  • Shiit loads of clothes, 2nd hand cot, pram, capsule, new mattress, change pad, bottles, teats, 30 cloth nappies, breast pads, bassinet for the pram and stand for it. Nearly done I think!!

Need breast pump, and a new car for the capsule and pram, and a new house for us and baby and baby stuff...
  • I've scored some very cute unisex baby clothes at clearance sales at GAP and Carters and may have bought at least a couple of little boy outfit that was too cute to pass up (but can be exchanged if it turns out the early prediction was wrong).  I also found the cutest barely used brown snuggly bear fleecy outfit at a garage sale for $2 yesterday which will be perfect for chilly winter walks.

We also scored a brand new Moby Wrap for $25 and a baby swing (Fisher Price Papasan Nature's Touch) and baby bath tub (with adorable froggy sling insert) for $40 off of Craigslist this week which I am super excited about.

  • I've only got a few things so far. We got a brand new bassinet from my aunt and uncle - we bought it for them for my cousin and they really never used it and aren't having any more kids so they gave it to us, which was awesome. I've had that in my house for a couple of years now lol

More recently, my mom bought us a pack and play. It is a Graco that retailed here for $300 and she got it for $140!! It was such a great deal we had to get it. It comes with the changing table, a little rocker seat that can go in or out, it sings and vibrates, the whole nine yards lol Last night DH and I put it all together to make sure that it was all in working order so that we could return it now if we needed to. It was so exciting!!

  • I purchased a Graco travel system for 75% off, and the following for 50% off: bassinet, pack and play, high chair, snug a monkey swing, and booster seat for car. Also have all nursery furniture, with the exception of glider. I am the queen of sales and cannot pass up a good deal!

I am in the same shoes. I'm terrified to buy anything and two of my friends had miscarriages around the time I found out I was pregnant. I am 19 weeks and still terrified of telling people I'm pregnant. While I get its probably irrational, I have decided that we will start seriously buying stuff after 24 weeks. So I'm patiently waiting and marveling at those of you who are getting awesome bargains. Love it! :)

I don't think it's irrational at all. Maybe because my brain works like yours in this situation. I love seeing all the goodies everyone is getting but inside I feel like a Debbie downer. I did force myself to go through all of my DS's clothes and found a few unisex stuff and I washed them! Does that count?! I got really excited over it... Lol.

  • Once Upon A Child (national resale store for kids clothing) has a biannual clearance sale. $15 for a large grocery bag filled with all the clothing you can fit in it. LOVE this sale. I got 18 pairs of pants, 24 shirts, and 6 sweaters/sweatshirts for DS for winter. It should have been $30 because it was two bags, but the cashier forgot to charge for two bags. Before I paid, I told her she only rang me up for one bag. She didn't want to re-ring my purchase and said I got a great deal for $15.

I just looked up the store and their is one 9 miles away. Thanks so much for posting. As soon as I get the mojo to buy baby stuff, that will be one of my first destinations! :)
  • We haven't bought muh since DS and #2 will be so close, but my coworker sold us her barely used crib and we found a dresser/changing table that my FIL bought for us so we don't have to rush DS out of his furniture. I am holding off on the girly stuff until we get a second look at her at our a/s on Wednesday.
