Didn't expect to write that title until September 26th.....but so happy to announce my sweet little boy Oliver has arrived at 34 weeks 3 days.
Monday evening my water broke unexpectedly while my husband was out of town for work. So I called him and he started the 3 1/2 hour drive back to town. I drove myself to the hospital and was admitted at 9:45. I wasn't have contractions and was 2 cm dilated so they told me they would wait most likely until the am for anything since I wasn't going to progress and gave me an ambien. I woke up at 1:00 am when my husband arrived in terrible pain. I went from 2cm to 8cm instantly. Called the doc and anesthesiologist. Doc comes.... too late for the epideral I was 10cm and ready to push. I was actually still out of it to some extent from the sleeping pill but at 2:58am Oliver came into this world weighing 5lbs. 10oz and 20 inches long.
In the am he stopped breathing 4 different times so was sent from the hospital we were at to the one across town to the NICU around 10am. I was discharged at 10:30 am to be with him. (Yep....13 hours in the hospital only) He has been in the NICU since Tuesday am. His breathing is getting better but he isn't eating very well and now is jaundis. The doctors are extremely hopeful that it is his age that is causing the issues and nothing else. We are blessed to have him in our lives and so happy he is here...just want him to get better and be home with us fast!
We are excited to cuddle with him. Its really hard seeing him sick and not being able to do anything for him.
Good luck to all of the September mommies! Having your little one is truly the best feeling in the world. Any thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!
Re: Oliver's here!
Btw, I kind of love that it's like he knew your husband had gotten there and decided it was time to get the show on the road.
