Your wedding bloopers

I thought this would be fun, since weddigs sometimes dont go as planned. What blooper happened at your wedding?

At mine, we forgot to kiss. The minister forgot to say you may kiss the bride and I honestly forgot. Once we were announced and on the dance floor, the minister said it then and we kissed haha.
And the other one was DH forgot our car. We didn't rent a limo or anything. So we ended up being driven off in the backseat of my aunt and uncles car. Oh the memories lol.
Your turn!

Re: Your wedding bloopers

  • My spray tan started wearing off on my dress...I know there were probably a lot of others, but I probably just never found out about them haha.
  • Loading the player...
  • Our DJ started playing the karaoke version of our father daughter dance, so there were no words. Other than that, not much went wrong.

The rehearsal was a cluster though. We were locked out of the church, and then I realized at 10pm that I left my underwear at our apartment an hour away, so I didn't get to bed until after midnight.

  • My mum was wearing spanx and had to go to the bathroom. She pulled down her spanx but forgot her underwear and peed all over herself.

We also forgot to bring a car, so the best man drove us back to the hotel

  • I had a "change" dress for the end of the night - I didn't want the garter bit to look tacky, so I wanted to wear a short dress so he wouldn't have to "under" my dress. Well, my wedding dress had a built in bra and corset, and I forgot to pack a bra!!!! I was SOOOO prepared for everything, and had every detail thought out, but for some reason, this escaped us all. Well, my mom was wearing a black dress and has smaller boobs than I do, and she just took hers off and gave it to me to wear!! That's what moms are for!

  • During the ceremony we did the whole lighting of the Unity Candle. The church MADE us use their candles because they were "drip-less." Well, I beg to differ because as soon as we lit the unity candle, my had was burning with wax dripping down my fingers! Thank goodness the song that was being performed during that time was longer. I had time to recover, laugh and peel as much wax off as possible before swapping rings-lol!

  • Mine was not really a blooper but funny to watch on video and embarrassing at the time. My mom took out one adult and two 10 year olds to catch the bouquet!

She was the next to get married, one week short of a year later she married her date to my wedding.
  • Some people who were continually late were put in charge of bringing my grandparents to the wedding. They were late, nobody told me and so my grandparents didn't get to see me come down the aisle. It's a big regret - I would have waited for my Grandpa, he was gone a couple years later.
The next wedding these people came to, about six months later was my brother's and outdoors and they drove up as the ceremony was starting. So everyone could see/hear. I guess I had some pent up rage because I blasted them in the parking lot.
  • Also we stopped at whataburger on the way to the hotel... We were hungry!
  • When we were going to offer peace to our bridal party and parents, DH stepped on my veil and pulled it out of my head.  My sister (MOH) picked it up and tried to hand it to me but I didn't know what to do, so I tossed it across the church to my mom.  At the time it seemed like the right thing to do...eh, it was funny on the video. :)

  • I put the ring on my husband's wrong finger!

And when we cut the cake, we forgot to feed it to each other.  Oops.

I feel like so many things happened during our wedding. When it happened none of it really bothered me though.

First, our tapers said no-drop but that was a lie. So DH went to lift the unity candle to light it and the stand fell off the bottom and clunked loudly on the table. No one had any idea what was going on though. We could not stop laughing.

Second, we took my in-laws brand new Ford Edge as our getaway car. During the drive to the reception my shampoo, from my overnight bag, exploded all over their back seat. DH also took his glasses off to put sunglasses on and lost them in their car.

Third, our DJ, who was a friend, somehow messed up transferring our first song to his laptop. Instead of playing at normal speed it played like 10X faster than it was supposed to. I cried my eyes out while we dance but everyone thought I was just crying because I was happy.

  • I tripped on my wedding dress going up the steps to the altar. Didn't fall or anything but I was giggling something crazy. But I was also laughing bc my brother and sister were both balling their eyes out. The rear bearer looked horrified at my brother crying, but it was so funny.

  • There was a fire in my apartment building the night before my wedding. I threw my dress out my 5th floor window to save it and even made the news. Everything turned out fine but it was really scary while it was happening.

    Omg you win.
  • Oh my wedding.  So many things did not go the way I had planned.  Can't believe I am trying to plan my tenth wedding anniversary next year (2014) already!

I said my wedding vow wrong and then giggled because I was nervous at which point my dear husband got made because he did not think I was taking my vows seriously.  Ugh!

My favorite...I was not on good terms with my mother at the time of my wedding and have since stopped talking to her.  I had asked my mother not to wear a black or strapless dress to my wedding.  I just think they are tacky, but that is exactly what she wore and every picture of her is her hiking her dress up.  (which is why I don't like strapless)  Then she danced the entire night with the dj I paid for at my wedding.  And then the following month she walks into the walgreens my sister was working at to buy a home pregnancy test.  Part of the reason I completely stopped talking to her.  Classy!

And the last crazy thing to happen at my wedding.  My brother in law decided the joke at our wedding was to fill our car top to bottom with balloons.  Very cute and I can just picture all our groomsmen trying to fill that many balloons all by hand.  :)  Well people saw them filling the car with balloons and decided to 'join' in the fun.  They poured water over our car in the middle of a Wisconsin winter.  It took us hours to defrost our car.  That part was not greatly appreciated.

There are plenty more, but it is in the past and I have a wonderful husband.  :)  And the food, venue and cake were amazing!!!

  • DH had all of his groomsmen carry fake rings so when the pastor asked for the ring, they passed up 100 of the little fake ones.  That was not so bad, it was pretty funny.  What was bad was that DH dropped the real one, bent down to get it but actually had a fake one, so we h=got married using a fake ring.

This happened to us, too.  The priest didn't say to kiss, so we didn't, lol.

  • I fainted at my wedding, lol. I was mortified at the time, but now it's been 6 years and I think it's pretty funny. I had to finish the ceremony in a chair! Other than that it was perfect. :)

  • I don't know if it counts as a blooper but when we cut the cake our groomsmen (5 rowdy Marines) shouted MAZELTOV! we laughed and I threw my hands up. But everyone else was super confused. Because we aren't Jewish....
  • Not sure if these count...on my way down the aisle, I was so nervous and busy looking at my friends and family and trying not to cry, I completely forgot to look for my husband!  Once we got really close and I looked up and was like oh yeah, there is a reason I am walking down this aisle in a white dress.

On the way to take pics, MH and I were on the back bench seat of the limo so we were facing the correct way and my brother was on the end of the long seat the runs the length of the limo.  We went around a sharp corner and whoop, he slide right off the leather seat and onto the floor, almost in MH lap.  I still crack up thinking about it three years later.

  • My husband forgot to bring the marriage license, and I forgot to unbustle my dress before walking down the isle! (Bustled it because it was pouring outside)
  • We had a few, to start my dress on the left side only was rubbing my skin raw, through the ceremony and reception I had my something old, my great grandmother's hankie, sticking out of the side of my dress to protect my skin.

During the processional we walked down this grassy hill, my one's bridesmaid started to fall, she caught herself but the entire crowd gasped. I think people secretly hoped to get the fall on camera.

And last the caterer but the wrong cake topper on the cake. I got a statue as a gift for my grandmother to put at her spot at her table. They put it on the cake instead.

  • Our DJ said the wrong name when announcing me and my husband, kinda thought about punching him for that. Then, I made two really inappropriate jokes during my husbands speech - basically that if it wasn't for per marriage counseling he would be 6 feet under. ^#(^ and then when we were feeding each other cake, I told him if he smashed it in my face everybody would witness our divorce. X_X plus, we didn't know that when people tink the glasses we were suppose to kiss, who knew? Lol I can't even watch our wedding video, I'm so embarrassed.
  • Forgot the weddin license and wedding his wedding ring. Uses his brothers as ring that didn't really fit him and had to start an hour late waiting on the license!
  • The cutest blooper was my flower girl. She was two weeks shy of turning 2, and I knew she was too young to "get" it, but she's just SO cute. Out of 3 runs during the rehearsal, one went well. At the ceremony, as soon as the doors were opened for her and the ring bearer to walk down the aisle, she took of running (screaming and crying) to her mom who was one of my bridesmaids.

Then after the wedding DH and I were the last ones to leave with the photographers who didn't know how to get to the reception location, so they followed us. Somehow in a matter of like 100 yards, a vehicle got between ours and theirs. We were coming up on a traffic light that turned yellow, and DH knew the photographers would not make it through and we'd lose them so he stopped. The people in the car behind us were honking and throwing their hands in the air and flipping us off. So DH, (who does not get mad easily, but when he does you better watch out) looks at me and says "Can I just get out of the car?" And I say why not? lol so in the middle of this intersection, completely dressed in tux and gown we're out if the car in a screaming match with these people. Of note, the guy wouldn't get out of the car, but his wife did, which is why I got out. Unfortunately, the photographer was laughing too hard to get her camera.

Oh and their excuse for getting angry? They were running late. Excuse me this is our wedding day, we too are running late. FOR OUR RECEPTION! They ended up going the same direction we did, and we saw they went to Home Depot. How can one "run late" to Home Depot?
  • We had a destination wedding. The day of the wedding we spent hanging out by the pool and drinking. I ended up getting drunk and crying while I was getting ready because I was drunk on my wedding day. My 90 year old grandma gave me a valium to calm me down. I didn't know what it was at the time, I just took it because she said it would make me feel better. Lets just say good thing we video taped it because I don't remember any of it.

  • We were supposed to have a sparkler exit. I paid the photographer and videographer extra to stay late for that moment. Two days before the wedding, the wedding planner emailed me that they'd just discovered a law (from 2006 mind you) that sparklers were illegal in that county. Minor meltdown by me since we'd purchased the sparklers and the extra time. The wedding planner felt bad so she went to the party store and bought BLUE glow sticks to surprise me. My elegant, winery wedding turned into an f'ing rave. I couldn't help but laugh afterwards but it looked so ridiculous and awkward.
  • DH and I eloped in Vegas, so I kinda feel like the whole thing was one big blooper! It was awesome though... We had real wedding attire and my ring was perfect!! We were on cloud nine...

But at the courthouse getting our license, there were some doosies! One couple was about fifty or so and the man was wasted. The woman (with her huge hair, makeup, and personality) was coaching him on what to tell the cashier. "Now, you've been married three times... Right? She's gonna ask you how many times and you'll tell her three!" Then they argued about the $60 fee... Wonder how their happily ever after is going!

  • Lol I'm lovi g this thread!

Well we had ALOT of people at the reception but did pictures between ceremony and reception. We provided appetizers because we knew it was going to be a little but. Well we drive past the reception place while on our way to our second photo spot but the wedding coordinator saw us and announced we were there. Champaign was poured and everyone was waiting and we obviously didn't show up right then. It was a little chaotic.

And then for some reason me and DH were completely lost on how to cut the cake.

Oh my gosh! What was the statue of??
It was an Elvis statue. We got married by an Elvis impersonator, I always said I was since I was in junior high. My gram is a huge Elvis fan so I got her a cute little statue since she always supported the idea. I'm sure she never thought I would actually do it though ;)
  • I'm super-clumsy, and I tripped twice on my way down the aisle.  Once about halfway down, and once when I was stepping up to the altar.  I almost did a faceplant at the altar.

  • Ohhh man were do I start lol:

1.) The "backscreen" of our cake fell over on the cake

2.) My dad didn't hand me off - he forgot.  We all stood there waiting for something to happen and then the pastor gave us a little "nudge"

3.) The lady we hired to set up for the wedding lost our mirrors and votive holder - they never were set up

4.) Our "special order" flowers turned out yellow and orange.  They were supposed to be deep red.

5.) OH and did I mention my BIL (DHs best man) got arrested for a DWI 3 days before the wedding?

  • The big thing that happened was that it rained and the wedding was supposed to be outside. We had a good backup so it wasn't too big of a deal.

Other things... A groomsman's tux pants were about 8 sizes too big, one of our groomsman's flights got cancelled and he didn't make it, the best man fell down some stairs and fractured his elbow, and the sound system didn't really work for our first dance. We could hear the song being played in other rooms far away, but not really where we were dancing...

But in all it was a great day- hard to believe its been more than 4 years!

  • Mine was a blooper from the day I started planning ! My venue double booked my day and didnt catch it for another 2 months . I had already had my time off approved and everything booked and I had to reschedule everything !!! But the day of one of my bridesmaids had one too many mimosas and went the wrong way down the aisle .... We got married outside at a Rock quarry so it wasn't like a church where there was a designated aisle I think she was just confused

OMG that is the best part of the story!

We had a 4yo and 2yo flower girls. The parents of the 2yo promised her Dora treats at the end of the aisle. I think at the last minute, the dad got cold feet and scooped her up. 2yo started crying because she realized that she wouldn't be getting the Dora treats.

Also, my church was robbed the morning of my wedding, and people stole a bunch of sound equipment. There were police outside the church when I arrived. I was so la-di-dah that day (hey, it was my wedding day) - I kept thinking to myself, "I wonder why there are police here? How nice of them to show up!" and "Huh, I wonder why they're not using the good microphones - oh well!"
