Teething...

I think LO has started the teething process but I am not positive. Today was HORRIBLE. She barely napped, wont take her pacifier, total drool fest and wont fall asleep. She usually knocks out after her night time feeding. NOT TONIGHT ughhh. I dont know what to do!! Is it to early? Shes a little over 3 months.
Is anyone else going through this yet or if you have gone through it before what should I look out for or do to comfort? TIA

Our dd is 3 months and teething. Poor thing is miserable! She soaked two bibs today and the onesie underneath. Tylenol and cuddles is all I can do :(

ETA: I have freezer teethers that I hold up to her mouth and she sucks on them like crazy. It would be so much easier if she had the coordination to hold them herself but what do you do?
  • I think we are in the same boat.  She is a drool machine and always has her fingers in her mouth.

  • Ours is doing the same will be 3 months this week. Pedi told us either teething or teeth positioning in prep for teeth. Snuggles and frozen BM pops were suggested for us. But the process does suck a lot of pacing, rocking and snuggling.

  • Im glad to know im not alone!! I really didnt expect the whole process to start till like 6 months. I was nervous it was to early but clearly it is not! I did call the pedi and she suggested tylenol if needed and refrigerated teething rings. She said she wasnt a fan of oral jel eve tho ive babysat many babys who did use it and it worked like a charm. Today was better the yesterday. I think the whole process exhausted her and she took a long long nap today and fell asleep pretty easy. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

  • @nailqueen Sounds like the start of teething to me!! Teething rings or a cool wash cloth and many bibs near by!! I was advised against orajel and to give tylenol if needed, if she had a fever or in wailing pain. Other then that we just have to ride it out!

  • My LO is teething as well! No advice, just wanted to sympathize :( Does anyone know how long this usually lasts?
  • I got her an amber necklace to wear during the day when she is supervised. I use teething rings out of the freezer, Tylenol, and lots of snuggles and nursing!

    *mostly lurker here*

It can last anywhere from 6 months to the the time they get there molars, for DS1, that was at 2 1/2. In my experience, it does get easier once the first few teeth pop through, but the drooling, gnawing, low grade fevers, and irritability seem to last with each tooth that is coming through. I like to give Hylands teething tablets or I will rub tylenol on DS2's gums to numb them out, instead of giving a full doseage, to make LO more comfortable.
  • This sounds like my LO. But I can't see anything.

  • I guess this is what we are going through. LO is usually an awesome napper and sleeper - it's 1:33pm and no nap yet today! He is a cranky mess, and soooo tired. Oh lord help us all!
  • HC has been teething, too, and he's not even 4 months yet. You can actually see/feel his two little bottom teeth trying to come up. Some days he's great and others he's awful. He absolutely loves these sassy washcloth teethers and the green sprouts wooden teething ring. For pain we use teething tablets, and something called boiron camilia was recommended to me, and it works really well for teething pain and digestive issues that go along with teething. Since I've been using the tabs and camilia, his pain hasn't been nearly as bad.
Thanks for the suggestion of the washcloth teethers.  I might try that for LO.  She loves to chew on blankets or her outfits.
