Night Crew Check In

It's still kinda early, but I figure there's probably some mamas up and feeding right now. :)

Sorry if this is TMI, but I've had crazy lightening crotch all day.  Some of them to the point of stopping me in my tracks because it was so sharp and painful.  I know this isn't a sign of labor, but hopefully it means there's more going on down there to prepare for labor!

  • @kwrecks I've had it a lot today too. I still have an inside baby, but I can't sleep with all this awful heartburn going on.

LO has been bumping into my cervix all day today too, ouch!

  • I am pretty sure my kid is narcoleptic. He sleeps all the time. I prob need to enjoy this and not complain. But my mom came for the week and there's nothing for her to do. She'll take him from 6a-9a...but that's all we really need. Otherwise it's poop, eat, sleep. Repeat.

Ok...ill count my blessings. But it'd be nice to see his eyes occasionally.
  • My LO hates sleeping lately and eats constantly. She is 4 weeks old tomorrow. I really hope she falls asleep soon because I am in desperate need of some rest.

I (for the first time) have timeable ctx less than 20 mins apart... Nothing regular yet but holy cow that stopped me in my tracks. Here's to hoping it becomes something!!! I can't sleep through this madness.

    Good luck to you!

  • LO was fed less than an hr ago so I'm going to sleep now. He's currently knocked out, but we'll see how long that lasts.

This was us for the first 2 weeks, then the growth spurt hit and all he wants to do is eat.

  • Can't wait to move on from LO waking every 90 minutes at night. During the day isn't so bad, but I NEED to get some sleep at night.

  • I'm totally stressed about my scheduled induction because my induction with DS was brutal. My body just doesn't like it and I was really hoping to go med free (and still am!). It's on Wednesday so I still have almost a week. I need labor dust!!

  • I fed lo half an hour ago

  • Just fed LO. Now I am trying to get her to sleep. Hopefully we can both get a goodnights rest tonight.
  • Connor is staring at me... He should be sleepy! He just ate for almost an hour! But instead he's side eyeing me like he's plotting something. Hopefully it isn't a sleepless night... I'm ready for bed little man! Why aren't you??
  • Feeding LO now and hoping he will sleep a couple of hours this stretch. I didn't get a nap today so I am extra tired.

  • My induction is scheduled for the morning. I'm excited and nervous! Was a wreck earlier and had some pep talks to help me feel better. Now I just can't wait to meet my baby girl!! Life is about to get so much better! Pretty sure I'll be up all night!

  • My guy has been needy today. The few times he'd let me lay him down I'd do a few things before I would attempt to nap as well.. Seriously the second my head would hit the pillow he'd wake up screaming... Hopefully a full belly, changed diaper, and bath will knock him out for awhile... A girl can dream! Haha :)
  • @mommabmb FX this is it for you; good luck!
piperjayne Sending labor dust your way!

  • So that stretch of sleep didn't last long. I feel like LO likes to be fussy with latching when dh is home. He latched fine all day and it's like he knows that dh would give him a bottle or something

mine is fussy all day and when DH gets home, he is better. I want DH here when he is fussy to bounce him until he falls asleep!

we EBF (no bottles). if LO thought he would get a bottle, I know he would do whatever possible to get one! it was so hard to get him to take a breast and he never had a bottle.

  • LO has been cluster feeding again since 9:30. I even gave him a bottle of pumped milk to help save my sanity and nipples a little. Still not satisfied; he definitely prefers the boob. Hope he passes out soon- only got two and a half hours of sleep last nite.

Mommabmb, I hope this is it for you!

We had to supplement at one point, so he's had bottles. When he gets really fussy, we have to start off with a bottle first then switch to breast.

  • Oh what a night. We went our for a nice dinner with LO in the ergo carrier. DBF had never worn it before. Walked the dog after and then as we're back inside I hear "oh no!" From the bedroom. DBF had unsnapped the carrier and LO fell out onto the carpeted bedroom floor. Thank god he wasnt in the kitchen or somewhere without carpet. And thank you lord that I splurged and got the upgraded extra padded carpet pad when we replaced it this summer. LO is totally fine.

Then we have no good swaddle wraps to use tonight. They're in the wash but I find a crappy one. DBF is trying to get LO down and LO pees the swaddle. It's not much and I'm like, it's fine just pop it in the dryer (ok gross but don't judge). The dryer is full (naturally) and DBF just dumped all the clean clothes into the bed and is folding them in a mad rush. I'm so type A that I will have to refold all my clothes tomorrow.

  • I have an appt tomorrow and hope OB has good news for me at 41 weeks! I've felt some changes this week since membrane sweeping on Monday that I'm truly hoping will lead to a baby in my arms by the end of the weekend. ::crossing fingers:: I can't sleep because I'm anxious about it all. Don't want to get my hopes up too much, but also can't help think of it either. Trying to remember to expect the worst and hope for the best.
  • Feeding #1. We got one of the boys on reflux meds and he's been sleeping so much better it's insane. And not screaming. :)

We got 3.5 hours this last chunk, here's to hoping we can do it again.

  • Feeding number two. Im so tired i can barely keep my eyes open.

  • DS doesn't want to sleep. He's cluster feeding, falls asleep on the boob, then when I try to put him down he wakes up and wants to eat again. He also doesn't want the pacifier. I'm tired and dh is snoring away. Ugh

  • Feeding LO now.. He's almost three weeks and for 5 nights now he's fallen into his own schedule of eating at midnight, 3 am, 6 am and then we officially wake up at 9 am. So here's feeding number one of the night, oh and as his diaper was just off he decided to shart and poop everywhere. Haha yaaaaaay.

Me too. The only place DS wants to be is my arms

  • Just up for feeding number one. I actually slept for 3 hours before this one! That's a record for us! I'm considering going to the grocery store alone tomorrow with DS for the first time and I'm a limitless intimidated!

    Exactly this. I'm exhausted.
  • @lucyspeople Same. He's fine sleeping in his cosleeper during the day. Come nighttime, nope. He's half asleep right now. Let's see if we can get some sleep!

  • All I've done all day is feed this child. Five, hour plus feedings have me completely worn out. Looks like I'm working on number 6, too. I got no "mommy time" today because dh got home from work late then had an hour long massage appt 30 minutes away. He basically got home and went to bed.

    I'm so lonely.

I have my induction on Wednesday as well. I was also hoping to go med free, but hey, we still have 6 days left! It could still happen! Best of luck to you.

Also OP, lighting crotch is the worst! I feel your pain. I stop and panic that LO is going to make my water break lol!

  • Still have an inside baby :/ and stupid BH contractions, make me excited. Hope she comes any minute now lol.
  • We are up for our first feeding after a nice four hour stretch. Seeing that he nursed for two hours before bed, I was in need of a break.

Anyone else struggle with grumpiness/ impatience from sleep deprivation? I end up feeling awful because I lose my patience with my husband and kids. I know that everyone is adjusting to having a new baby and I want to be supportive, but having no sleep and multiple two year old tantrums a day is getting to me... Advice? Support?
  • Up for feeding #1, it's been over an hour though. I can't seem to put LO down in his own bed. It's our first night home from the hospital and even there he didn't want to go in his bed. We are really going to have to work on this tomorrow while he's sleeping.
