~Thursday Symptom/? about symptoms Check-In~

Good Morning April Momma's! This is a check-in to SHARE,VENT AND ask QUESTIONS about whatever symptoms you may be experiencing today.

So tell us -

Week/Days:

Baby #:

Symptoms/rants:

Questions:

Since this is a common questions I'm going to address it here. If your symptoms are fading please know that this is normal, they will come and go all through out your pregnancy, it does not mean that you will definitely miscarry. Symptoms are not a good way to gauge if your pregnancy is viable or not. The only person that can tell you that is your doctor or midwife.

People, feel free to offer some advice!
*Keep in mind that we are not doctors and are basing our answers off personal experience. *

Symptoms come and go (which is driving me crazy!) heightened sense of smell, bloated, gassy, some nausea.

Question: anyone else's symptoms change day to day? Some days I don't feel like I have any symptoms at all! My first appt isn't for another 3 weeks. I know this is my second but I don't remember feeling this crazy the first time around?!?!

Symptoms/rants: Today...sore boobs still. Increased appetite (if that is a symptom lol).
@sdion27 Some days I don't feel pregnant at all, others I have symptoms. It's crazy, but it's normal. Last time around I think my symptoms were a lot more consistent.

    Questions: Nope!

Symptoms/rants: I got my prescription for zofran yesterday. With both my previous pregnancies, I had debilitating nausea for the entire 9 months, but my insurance never covered zofran (It would have cost me $900 a month!) so I was never even able to try it. After taking my first pill last night, I felt so relieved! Only problem is that my instructions on the bottle say to take 2 pills a day, but my insurance will only cover 12 pills every 20 days, so I guess I have to be selective over when I can feel like a person or not. Very frustrating! I also have a prescription for the unison/b6 combo pending insurance approval, but I never had luck with that one in past pregnancies, so we'll see.

Questions: During the first few weeks of pregnancy, cramping is my #1 symptom, (it's how I figured out I was pregnant with #2), but then the cramps go away. Anyway, last night I started getting awful cramps again after they've been gone for about 2 weeks. I don't remember this with my other two pregnancies. It's such an odd time for me to be cramping like this, and it's making me nervous. Anyone else?

Symptoms: I pretty much feel nauseous every day...mainly in the morning and around 5 o clock....heightened sense of smell...very pissy and irritable...gassy..bloated..some cravings...tired but not as tired as I was last week.

Question: How do I convince my OB to give me a vaginal ultrasound at my first 8 week appt. next week? I was told I will only be seeing a nurse and the nurse is just going to give me a check up type thing and ask a lot of questions...I want to see the baby!! Any suggestions?

Absolutely Exhausted last night and woke up at 4:30 this morning :( Feeling crampy, sore boobs, tired, and some waves of minor nausea.

As long as there is no blood with the cramping and the cramping doesn't become very painful, it sounds pretty normal! Try to relax and hydrate- it helps.

@smayville if you happen to forget or are unsure of your LMP they would have to do an ultrasound to date the pregnancy ;)

  • @smayville there's not much to see at 8 weeks but I know how you feel. I would ask for them to check the heartbeat with the Doppler, if anything. Ultrasounds get expensive too!

  • @sdion27 Completely normal, they will come and go on a daily basis. Enjoy the day you feel good!

@stphanie I still get cramps on and off but they are no where near painful. If you are really concerned you might want to give a call to your doctor.

@smayville Unless you have medical reason for an early ultrasound, you are just going to have to tough it out...sorry.

Symptoms: night sweats and insomnia are killing me. Bathroom visits every hour or so during the night. Lower back pain and very gassy.

QUESTION: anyone have success in curbing night sweats that doesn't involve temperature adjustment?!

  • 6W2D Baby #1 Symptoms come and go. Yesterday I had zero symptoms and felt like a superstar until 2pm when I suddenly was so exhausted I could barely get through the rest of the day. Nausea hits me in the afternoons/evenings. Again today, I woke up with no symptoms. This makes me very nervous and I have over a week until my first appointment! Questions: Does anyone else have Hasimotos? I have a very mild case and have not required any medication before. Saw my endocrinologist yesterday and had blood work done. For some reason, I am more worried now than I was before I went to the Dr! Hopefully results will be available today.

  • @thomas930 Well twins run in every generation on his side of the family...his dad is a twin....his brother and sister are twins and he has two nephews that are 4 and they are twins...then on my side of the family my grandpas sisters are twins...so if I tell her this do you think that would be a good reason to see the baby

@sdion27 I have seen other people post pictures of there uterus at 6 weeks and you can see the sack and everything....yea it's not much but at least it's something! :)

@nikki912 I might try this lol

  • Waiting on U/S to determine due date (not sure, did not have a cycle since miscarriage in early June).  I'm thinking about 5-6 weeks.

Baby #2 (but 1st is 9 yrs old, so it's all new again)

Boobs aren't sore but nipples are overly sensitive (TMI)  But boobs feel huge!  Making it difficult to get comfortable at night.  Other than that, I've been very tired this week...OH and the acne is ridiculous...lol  I feel like a teenager.

  • Around 6 weeks (I think.. didn't have a period so waiting for Monday to be dated).

    Baby #1

I was SO nauseous and feeling terrible earlier this week but yesterday and today I feel great.. which of course is freaking me out. I know it's normal for symptoms to come and go... I'm trying to be thankful I don't feel sick and just trying to keep my anxieties at bay until Monday when we have an ultrasound. I also have a small nagging cramp, so of course that's adding to my anxieties, I'm so scared to lose this baby! But no spotting at all... I'm just praying I can stay positive and everything is great on Monday!
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @smayville That's up to you but don't be surprised if they still don't see a reason to do one at that appointment....they may still wait. But understand that if they aren't jumping to give you one now that means they see you as a healthy woman having a low risk pregnancy and that is something to be happy about. I know it hard to wait but they do have your best interest in mind.

Please don't lie to get one though.

    FTM!

Feeling good so far today. Yesterday exhaustion hit me hard and I was in bed by 9pm and slept like a rock! Don't have any MS, but will have VERY small waves of nausea (nothing to complain about). Face breaking out a little too. That's about it, no real strong symptoms!!

    Baby #2

Symptoms: sore boobs, insomnia, nausea that comes and goes, fatigue, dizziness.
DD started preschool yesterday, so I was extra emotional -- letting go of one baby and starting a new one!
  • Week/Days: 4w6d

    Baby #: 1 (yay!!)

Symptoms/rants: Woke up in the middle of the night again (3:30 and couldn't really fall back asleep). I also was more tired that usual and went to bed at 9pm. Then I finally dozed close to 5am, but had a nightmare that my niece fell from a second story balcony. Super upsetting so I decided to just get up. I also am still having cramps and bloating.

Questions: Anyone else's husband having some psuedo sympathetic symptoms? I'm not sure if it's a subconscious competition thing, but it seems like anything I mention a symptom, DH complains of the same one. I'm feeling woozy? He's feeling woozy. My stomach is off? His stomach is off. I'm exhausted? He's exhausted. I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but it's a bit odd.

  • My hubby is a chiro and works magic with his hands. He applies a lot of pressure on the muscles along my spine...specifically lower back...from the outside toward the inside (not straight down). Cramps melt away! See a chiro if your hubby can't do it. Chiros can also do the Webster technique to prepare your pelvis for delivery...shortened labor! ;)
  • Week/Days: 6w3d

Symptoms/rants: Still my boobs, heart burn, nausea, crappy sleep, super nose, back pain, weird dreams, fatigue, and peeing a lot still.

    Questions:  nothing to say here...

Cramping started up again, think it may be my uterus stretching, as its not sharp, rather dull, but different than the cramping I felt early on...which I think was implantation cramping. Also, I'm still so moody...my DH says I need to go see someone. He realizes its the hormones and not me, but I'm like a crazy person lately...want desperately for this particular symptom to go away ASAP. But other than that, feeling okay, boobs are sore, but am pretty much used to that, and get tired easily. Just can't wait for my 1st appt...less than 2 weeks to go!

Symptoms: My symptoms have been gone for almost a week now. I still get kind of gassy at night and that's it. I had an OB appointment yesterday and he said my uterus was enlarged like it should be, so that's good I guess. ETA: I forgot hunger (I never used to be much of a snacker but now I can't go more than 2-3 hours without eating) and I'm very tired....but that's because I'm not sleeping well.

Also ETA: I deleted my question because I realized I have more symptoms than I thought I did. :) Hah.

@hordol sometimes they just level off. It can definitely be normal! If you're concerned you can always confirm with a nurse.

Symptoms/rants: None other than slightly sore boobs.

Questions: When did your symptoms start? I really want them to just stay away,  but I'm worried I'm gonna get hit with a ton in a few weeks. As it is, I sometimes forget I'm pregnant. Which kinda makes me feel guilty but I guess it's better than being in misery all the time right?
