QOTD: DS's name is actually DH's middle name. DH was called by his middle name when he was growing up. His mother still calls him that, actually.

Here's E getting excited for football season! Also, her first time in the grass. Not that we haven't tried, she always cries the second her skin touches the grass. But we had my friend's son over, and he was playing in the grass, so she decided she could too.

E's name came from the internet, but is inspired by the women of my family. Her first name is a Scottish name that has the same meaning as mine and my mom's middle name. Her middle name is my Scottish grandmother's first name.

Haha it runs our house!! I will be going to sleep to football, waking up to football, and watching football all weekend. Don't get me wrong I don't mind watching games but it means my husbands 4 football drafts will begin! Oh and when the giants or VT loses---it's no fun for anyone

We both just liked Amelia. No idea how the name surfaced into our dicsussions either! Her middle name is actually my middle name and the mn of many people on my side and dh's side, but we used it in memory of my mom.

Here we are at a wedding this past Sunday.

I forgot to answer the question!

She was actually supposed to be Natalie..... I still LOVE that name, but when we found out we were having a girl - we started calling her by it, and both agreed two days later that it did not feel right. We had always liked Molly, so we started calling her by that and both fell in love with it. It was really strange, it was an overwhelming feeling of attachment when we started calling her by it...I was a little apprehensive as her initials are MMM - and I know a few people who have named their dogs Molly, but totally LOVE Her name and think it fits her perfectly!

QOTW: DH and I both made lists of names we liked and then we narrowed it down. Grayson is a character on Cougar Town as well, so we heard the name there. His middle name is my Grandpa's name. I was considering it for a first name as well.

Owen was a name that we came up with when we were still expecting twins. The boy name was always going to be Kyle, so I said we needed to have a second boy name (we have about 10 girl names we like so no problem there). After the A/S DH and I were walking to the car and he said "I like Owen better now." We kept it a secret until he was born. Every family member was shocked that we didn't name him Kyle. If we're lucky enough to have a second boy, I'm sure that's what the name will be!

QOTD: both DH & I prefer traditional names and we came up with a short list. In the end, we picked one that was also one of DH's ancestor's name (the one who sailed to America from Europe).

Not a baby anymore, but here's Quinn showing off the smallmouth bass she caught all on her own. She spent the rest of the day reminding her older brother how she caught the biggest fish.

For names, we choose family names for first names and Irish names for middle names. In my family everyone is called by their middle names (I'm Victoria Kelly but called Kelly) so we decided to do that with our kids as well.

Shannon's first name is Christopher after his dad and my dad; Quinn's first names is Catherine after my paternal grandmother and my older sister; Sullivan's first name is Joseph also after my dad and my paternal grandfather; Maren's first name is Victoria after me and my mother.

My mother gives me a lot of grief for choosing family names from my side of the family and not Chris' but then I point out that they all have Chris' last name. Isn't that enough?

Here's a pic of Adalyn at the splash park that I found out yesterday is about 10 minutes from our house!

QOTW: DH and I decided that we weren't going to write any names down--if we couldn't remember them, then they obviously weren't the name for her. We needed a name that sounded pretty in English, Spanish, and Italian (since I speak all 3 with different family members). I used Nymbler with some other names that I really liked and this one popped up. I LOVE how it is an even number of letters and is symmetricalish (ie, the d goes up and the y goes down in the same place, etc). I know--silly, but I think that it is aesthetically pleasing, and the capital A in cursive is pretty. It is also from germanic language, and DH's mother's family is from Germany. So, that's where we got Adalyn from.

GTKY: Her first name is after a scientist (DH is a nerd) and her middle name is DH's mom's middle name. It's biblical so we liked the science and biblical names combined.

We live in Houston, so of course we cheer for the Texans! E doesn't have a jersey yet, but she has 2 onesies that she wears when we watch the games.
