I loved and still love 'N Sync. FC, I went to two of their concerts in HS, and I may or may not have found my folder of all their old posters and interviews from Teen Bop. I also may or may not have decided to keep them because I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. $:\$ "> If they ever reunite close enough to go to a concert I'm so in, and may even splurge on good seats.

Joey McIntyre=my husband when I was 9. I went to the NKOTB/Boyz/98 Degrees concert a while back and my crush is totally back in full force. Now if only I could get MH on board with bringing the ol' comforter and sheets back out.

My UO I HATE coffee with a passion. Never liked it and have always hated the smell. During my pregnancy, the smell made me sick and it's not gotten any better.

On the way to bring the kids to school I await the minute I can begin to smell the Starbucks..mmmmmmm. Not that I drink starbucks, I stick with Dunkin..but I love that smell!

I never listened to NKOTB and I'm 31... but in my defense I was really a pathetic kid and only listened to what my parents did. Think Elvis, The Supremes, Beach Boys, etc. so that's why I don't care for NKOTB. I came into my own in HS when 'N Sync came out and started developing my own loves in music.

Backstreet Boys all the way! Nick Carter was my dream man. My friend and I used to run a fan site dedicated to BSB. As you can probably tell, we were the cool kids.

My friend's older siblings were into NKOTB but I was a little too young. I love this thread today!

I dont think any houses in SoCA should be carpeted ever. I get why you guys need it where it snows. But it doesnt snow here.

Also houses with tile throughout are atrocious. I dont understand why mexi's love freaking tile!!

While I'm at it I'm not a fan of marble anything.

Agreed @nesenotes. Because it's cheap and low maintenance? Except grout sucks. I don't currently have wood floors but I wish I did. Do you know there's tile that's made to look like wood now? Except it still totally looks like tile. :-q

I've seen that. I wonder if its because they can mop the shit out of it and its not as scary as wood? You know they love to mop! (I'm looking at you mom and aunts!)

I'm OBSESSED with Christmas. Love everything about it. I even love the music that's piped incessantly over speakers in the mall. Except "Last Christmas." Every time that song comes on I want to find whoever wrote it and beat him/her.

And this is more of a confession, but I don't care. I'll forget it by Friday. I'm about to go online and order a diaper genie. We've been using a flip top garbage bin and that sucker stinks to high heaven no matter how much I clean it. My kid is a year old. Her room has been stinky since day one. :-&
I might order two so I have one in the living room too. I keep finding diapers in the couch from where DH changes her. :-& :-&

I have a regular garage bin in lilahs room and it hasn't stunk all year. You empty it when you need too.

LOL, @karmb. We change it all the time. I think part of the problem is that it's a hand-me-down from MIL. It's got years of stink built up! I didn't want the darn thing, but at the time I was too exhausted and overwhelmed to care anymore.

I thought this too until we went floor shopping and found luxury vinyl tile. Looks like wood but is a thousand times more durable and it's waterproof. https://www.burkeflooring.com/products-flooring-luxury-vinyl.php

I've seen this used in the apartment industry. My only apprehension with vinyl is that it tears after several years. I think some of the companies we worked with had a 10 year warranty. I'm not opposed to a faux wood though. Its also a million times easier to clean. Most of the houses in the area we are looking at have wood under the carpet. The house we live in (my parents old house) has the original wood from the 50's. I guess it will just depend on the house we end up choosing.

I think those light up shoes for toddlers are stupid! Seriously, not fashionable at all. Maybe I'll change my mind if R begs for light up shoes one day....but seriously hoping that day never comes.

We do this exact same thing. Plus we also cloth diaper part time so those ones go in a wet bag and I do laundry every other day. We honestly have never had an odor problem in her room and we just have a small regular garbage can.

@nesenotes - You'd hate me! I live in Southern California, and I carpeted over most of my hardwood...though I made sure they didn't ruin the hardwood in the process! Hardwood is so rough on the feet!

And on the food thing - my cousin's son is on the spectrum, so he only likes to eat McDonalds. Fine, I don't judge that. But her other kids, who are not on the spectrum, also only eat McDonalds. Her seven year old has never eaten fruit, EVER. She brags about this in a "boys will be boys!" kind of way. I watched her feed her 7 month old baby orange soda and pieces of a Snickers Bar for lunch. Some people make poor decisions.

I feel like the best thing to do is find a happy medium that works for your family. I think that forcing a kid to eat things they don't like can lead to unhealthy eating habits just as much as feeding them nothing but junk. My H is the perfect example. He grew up with an evil stepmother who would make them clean their plates even if they were full or if it was something they didn't like, and now he is an incredibly picky eater. I'm able to find vegetables he likes, thankfully, so we're able to eat reasonably healthy.
My plan for Taylor, which I've already started to put into practice, is offer healthy options over and over again. The things she loves, great. The things she hates, I don't force on her and try again a few weeks later. I've already gotten her to like eggs and beans, which she hated before. Also I am going to try to remember that everyone's palate is different and try to respect that with regards to my kids. If I am making a healthy meal and serving broccoli, which T hates, I make sure to have another healthy side that she will eat. I never want dinnertime to be a struggle, an argument or an "eat this or go hungry" environment.
