I have a job interview today.

Background

I haven't interviewed in over five years and six months ago if you told me I'd be considering leaving my current position with my current company I would have said you were crazy. But things have changed at work- and not for the better. We got bought by a bigger company, my vice president (boss) left in January. While I was on maternity leave, my company president (who I was close to) announced she was leaving. My department has been reorganized 3 times in 6 months and we now report up through our new parent company to merge our department with one they have that does similar work. They have told us they don't anticipate layoffs, but they recently let go staff in another department and I'm not so sure where my job will be in a year. Things have become very hierarchical and very bureaucratic. Also, my workload and the challenges- which I used to embrace and thrive on- are taking their toll. From June to August I was going to work, coming home (with a commute that went from an hour to often 1. 5 to 2 hours inexplicably), feeding A, putting him to bed then back on the computer doing work from 8-midnight. I was completely burnt out and spent so much time in the car and at night crying. DH and I agreed that it was not healthy and something had to change. Most of what I do is based in the city and where we live, though I love the area, isn't exactly a hub for my industry. Also, I make decent money that we depend on and I wasn't sure how to do that and not work in the city And then, a close friend announced she was leaving her job meaning her current position is open...and it's south of the city...and it's in my field. My commute would be about 40 minutes. And A's current daycare would still be on the way. The salary is slightly lower than what I currently make, but with potential raises and bonuses, I should be back at my current salary in less than a year.

I had a phone interview a few weeks ago that went well. And today is the actual meet-everyone-and-interview-in-person-with-them day.

First I have to take A for a doctor's appointment and then after dropping him at daycare, head to the interview.

I could use some good vibes/thoughts/etc.
