Well, I voted that I had a preemie bc it was the closest choice, my first came at 36 weeks. But I don't like calling him a preemie bc I think that's an insult to moms who had REAL preemies. DS1 came home with me.

DS2 came 5 days after his due date.

FTR I don't find it an insult. I know a few moms that had late-term preemies that did NICU time. It's the ones who are all "My poor preemie that never had a single set back/ medical problem" that I want to bitch-slap.

I answered 4 to 6 days because that's when my first was born (5 days past due) but I went into labour 3 days past due, she just took her time getting here.

My second came 1 day past by only 3 hours.

I voted for 2-3 days after due date, but in reality DS was born following induction at 40w1d.

DD was 7 minutes overdue. I am never sure where to answer her, but since you provided "on time" and "2-3 days past due" I marked on time.

He was due the 21st and came in late on the 30th.

I did have to be induced, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. In fact, I hope the next birth is as easy.

He came 4 days post due date but that was only because he was evicted due to medical problems.

Well thank you! I guess technically he was a late term preemie and I took 17-P shots when I was pg with DS2 and I'm taking them again this time. But since he never went to NICU and was discharged with me and had high birthweight for 36 weeks (6lb8oz) I think he's more like an "early side of normal" than preemie.

Anyway...I ramble.

Was due on the 16th but scheduled to be induced at 7pm on the 12th (for pre-e). Wound up going into labor on my own around midnight on the 12th and had him at 8:14pm on the 12th - about one hour after my induction was supposed to start. would that make me early or on time?

I voted preemie, but he actually showed up 3 weeks early without any NICU time. So, he wasn't considered a preemie because 37 weeks is considered full term.

I voted 2 weeks, but DD came at 35w 6d, so technically she was a preemie. Drs never called her that, though. She was 6lbs 7 oz, 21 inches and everything was 100% a-ok! When I went in for this LO, the Dr (playfully) rolled her eyes and said"L---, you're going to make me work on Christmas aren't you?"

I went into early labor like 2 days before my due date and then went into active labor the morning of my due date (like 3am), went to the hospital at 6am had her by c-section at around 8:30pm.

@PreDempsey I think this is the only post I've written that included our labor and delivery and NICU experience. I wrote it last year for World Prematurity Awareness Day. I left a lot out but it gives the over all gist. In hind sight I wish I had included more pictures, to really tell the story. But just writing it was hard enough.

I need a SS option. DD was a scheduled C/S at exactly 39 weeks because she was breech

I am not sure how long I would have gone had a not had a C/S. I had no signs of labor leading up to my C/S.

I put two weeks, but it was really 11 days. I had a c-section scheduled for 39w3d (DD was breech). My water broke at 38w3d, so DD was born 11 days before her EDD and 7 days before her scheduled eviction date. Even from the womb, she had to exert her independence

I had a late-term preemie at 34w5d.

I hope you don't consider me one of the ones you want to bitch-slap, @Deblondie1! I don't consider him my "poor preemie;" I realize how incredibly lucky we were that we didn't need NICU time.

I was induced at 39 weeks with DS (per my doctor's recommendation). When I went in for my induction I was already having regular though not very strong contractions.

Our little girls were very similar in weight and length ....

But mine was 6 weeks later ... lol! Quite a story. There usually is a great tale with micro preemies. They're such fighters.
