Re: Welcome to Week 33!

  • My baby felt really low for the longest time but just this past week did it feel like he was rising.Very weird feeling! I could feel him at the very lowest of my stomach, and now he's right around my belly button area.

Anyone also getting loads of Braxton Hicks? I swear I feel like these contractions last for hours but they just come and go, all day long.

  • I been getting so much braxon hicks that i do swear that they are real contractions. They lasted for hours, the doctor said that it was nornal just make sure that you time them for the first hour or so. If you see that the numbers are not the same take a hot shower and it eases it off. If it does not ease it off than i would call the doctor. Some times it can be nto to be gross, but gas or constipation. It feels like the same.
  • Unfortunately, some of it may be genetic with the stretch marks some women have stretchier skin than others, however, I was struggling with itchiness and the palmer's itch oil plus their cocoa butter lotion was really helpful. Also, Burt's bee's momma bee belly butter is great for twice daily usage too, although it is a bit more expensive. Goodluck! Remember, your body isn't ruinedyou're a tiger who earned her stripes!!!
  • I'm 33 weeks with my first. Everything is going very well. I too feel the pressure when I get up after sitting. My baby girl is huge, she's in the 76th percentile!! It is difficult getting comfortable on the couch at night with my restless legs, but sleeping is a little bit easier. My most unflattering pregnancy symptom now are nose bleeds. Anyone else getting them? I get them at night mostly.
  • I'm a day early creeping into this thread, but I'll be super busy tomorrow and will probably forget.

I guess I've just been really lucky or I'm very unobservant. I haven't felt any Braxton Hicks, pressure, pain, etc this entire pregnancy *knock on wood*

My so-called Morning Sickness was more like motion sickness you get from riding in a car and I only vomited twice. The first time I dumped a bowl of water down the sink drain and it was more like spit up than puking. Then at 11 weeks I flew to Texas to see my husband before he left for Afghanistan and the turbulence on the plane caused me to lose all the crackers and ginger ale I had consumed in an effort to keep from getting sick on the plane.

But ever since 12W1D, I've been basically symptom free when it comes to pressure/pain. So far at least. I sometimes feel that I can't be as far along as I am because I"m not going through anything that the people I know say I should be going through.

  • I'm definitely feeling lots of pressure in all lower areas so bad that I went to the hospital and discovered I was in preterm labor they gave me a few shots and sent me home but this pressure hasn't subsided especially in the am when I first wake up!!!
  • I am a FTM and have been having horrible vaginal, adominal and rectal pressure for the last week.  It doesn't generally ease up at all with change of position for me.  The only thing that helps seems to be lying down with my hips elevated, and even that is not much of a relief.  I talked to my midwife and she said it was normal, the babies head was just down. I haven't had any increase in the BH I have been experiencing for the last few weeks.  At this rate, with the sleep loss due to pain I feel like I might actually be exhausted by the time I go into labor.
  • Im with you on the carpal tunnel. Its like I just woke up one morning with a numb hand that was tingling and popping and cracking everytime i moved it. Im having to wear a hand brace on my left hand and its making everything harder to do.And the pressure is the worst. I feel like when I stand up everything is going to come falling out, and its so uncomfortable! Only  a few more weeks left though, and it will all be over, and soooo worth it when my lil girl is finally here!!
  • I have carpal in both hands. Doc told me to get wrist supports which really help. Go to your local pharmacy. I also started going to a chiropractor which alleviates the pain too.
  • Week 33 and my biggest complaint this week is a sudden upsurge in bloody noses, and some nausea and vomiting the last couple of nights after supper. (Night sickness??) Never had morning sickness in the early stages so this is unique. I guess I'm going to have to watch what I eat for supper and eat in even smaller portions. Back pain and some bladder pressure, but other than that doing fine. So far (knock on wood) no swelling, no boob leaking and no stretch marks. But had my biggest weight gain in the whole pregnancy this last week (2 1/2 to 3 lbs!) I keep telling myself if I can just pace myself, we've only got a few weeks to go...

  • I am 33w1d and completely miserable, pressure almost everywhere and horrible low back pains and that's before the Braxton Hicks start up. With my first pregnancy, things were so much more comfortable but this time every last little thing hurts. As for stretch marks, Palmers is working pretty good for me, so far.
  • They say that it doesn't matter if you use lotions or not, it's supposedly in your genes if you are going to get stretch marks. I used lotion any way with my first child, with this one I have been using bio oil, which I just purchased at my local grocery store. Hope this helps!
  • I am 31 y/o, and also 33 weeks preg and as far as I can tell have no stretch marks *knock on wood.* My sister is jealous of this. I'm not sure if it's because I'm considered "overweight" to begin with, or because I was working out before getting preg trying to lose the weight. That and I've only gained about 12lbs the whole preg so far. I have been using Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Belly Cream for stretch marks, and purchased it online at vitacost.com I like it and think it works well. Only stretch marks I have are on my legs/thighs but that was from the weight gain I put on over the past 10+ years (hence wanting to lose weight). Not sure if you have a Destination Maternity store near you, but I heard they also have some great stretch mark products (something to look into, and they have a website online). As to the stretch marks you have already, have you tried using Mederma? I do believe they have a stretch mark product and I've heard good things about the brand itself. It's a little expensive from what I've seen/heard but also hear it works. All stuff to look into, hope this helps you out.

I made a kid in 2010. Version 2.0 in progress.
  • Yup. I do. Fun, isn't it? I contacted my doctor at one point because I thought something was seriously wrong. As a FTM, I get nervous over every little thing, and this had me freaked out! The pressure was so intense at one point, I thought I was going to give birth to baby right then and there! My doctor told me that the feeling of pressure down there is completely normal because baby's weighing more. Duh! I should have thought about that! Either way, be sure to contact your doctor if you're concerned. A simple phone call will only help you.
