dammmm pedi office

DS has a random rash on his torso.  It doesn't itch, it's barely red (mostly flesh colored raised bumps) but I want to get to the bottom of it of course.  Nothing has changed - we use free and clear detergent and I use Earth's Best Sensitive Skin wash and lotion on both kids.  No notices about anything from DC either.  No fever, no pain,  he hasn't tried any new foods, we haven't traveled, nada.  Just weird bumpy skin for him.  DD has nothing like this.

I called the pedi and they have NO appointments at all this week.   Probably because it's back to school time??  I told them to please call me if they get a cancellation for Wednesday night or Saturday.  What should I do in the mean time?  DH said to pick up calamine lotion on the way home today and we can try that after his bath tonight.  Any thoughts/suggestions or anyone had something like this?

  • If it isn't bothering him, and nothing has changed in your household, no new foods, I'd probably leave it be, honestly.

Thanks @KellersPrag because I feel like a shitty mom so that makes me feel better!  :)

Yeah, I kind of have left it for about a week but since it's not going away I'm starting to worry.  I checked doctor google images and it's not ringworm, or chickenpox or anything like that.  It is almost more like heat rash but it hasn't been hot here or in our house.

  • I have that as well as most of my 6 siblings, honestly not sure who all has the bumps. My dad also has it. The doc told my parents its a hereditary thing and they aren't sure why causes it. But what to describe sounds like the bumps we all have. Hopefully that's what it is and isn't a reaction to something.

  • Could it be eczema?  We thought DD had ringworm a while ago, but it turned out to be eczema, and using a cortisone cream made it go away.

If you really want to get in at the pedi's, could you bring him in for a sick appt?  Our pedi office will see sick visits if you show up between 7-9; not sure if yours does something like that...

Hope it goes away soon- rashes are the worst.
