I never used one with my daughter, but I've always referred to it as a Binky. So if I happen to use one once my son is born next month, I'll call it binky.

Probably "binky" since I'm at a loss for what else to call it but I have to admit I really dislike all the cutesy baby nicknames for things and want to encourage my son to speak using real words and full sentences whenever possible as he grows up.
