As of now my routine hasn't changed too much. I run 4 or 5 days a week (4-8 miles) and do HIIT workouts about 3 days a week for strength training. I've decreased the intensity of the HIIT workouts and will not do as many of the jumping exercises back to back. Instead, in order to maintain strength without allowing to myself to get too winded, I modify the plyometric to a similar strength training exercise. So far I've felt comfortable with the weights I normally use, so I haven't modified them yet. I've slowed my running down a bit and stopped doing speed and tempo work. I hope to strength train and run as long as possible to help with natural labor!
I saw a woman jogging today wearing only shorts, sneakers, and a sports bra. She was very clearly expecting. I had to stop her and ask how far along she is. She said she's 36 weeks pregnant, and she's been running every single day of her pregnancy with her doctors permission and supervision. She looks incredible!

I have been trying to keep swimming at least three days a week and walking the rest, but fatigue has been kicking my butt lately so I have been trying to a least walk the neighborhood.
I ran for the first time since my bfp today and felt good. I did more walk/run intervals than I had been doing, but overall my average pace stayed the same (slow, if you're wondering)
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
This thread just reminds me how I haven't worked out since I found out.... But when I do.. i'll just stick to walking or the elliptical with light hand weight...and LOTS of squats ...need strong legs for the belly i'm going to get
I do kickboxing 3 times a week and resistance bands 3 times a week. I did kickboxing last Wednesday and almost puked my brains out. I tested the next day and haven't worked out since then. I need to get back into it!
tahitiansun no not really, I stopped doing the cobra stretch towards the end of class and now do a cat stretch instead but thats more because my lower back in general had been bothering me and ever since the BFP it has been even more achy. I know on the Bar Method website they say that modifications don't start until the second trimester as well (https://www.barmethod.com/moms.htm)
I've been doing CrossFit for 2 years until I found out I was pregnant. I had some bad cramping while doing it (before I found out that night I was pregnant). I didn't have any spotting or bleeding but the dr said no more weight lifting or going that intense. I'm so scared to do anything so I've been walking/riding the bike for 45-60 min a day. It's been rough because I'm so used to working our 7 days a week and sometimes twice a day! I just ordered a prenatal yoga DVD so I'm excited to add that in!
I'm playing tennis doubles only 3 times a week, lifting light weights 3 times and running twice a week! But I was already doing all this prior so I've read it's good to keep going but switch to lighter weights and no singles tennis matches
I am still continuing my routine. I run 2 days between 6-7 miles, 2 days of an hour on elliptical and one day of lifting/cardio so basically 6 days a week. However, this week my MS kicked in and its an all day thing so I cut my run yesterday to 5 miles. I can feel it getting a little harder than last week. I am 6w 1d and can't wait until I get some of my energy back. MS hit me sooner this pregnancy than with DS. Any exercise during 1st tri I think is an accomplishment since symptoms hit you full force!!!
I slowed down once I got my BFP, until my doc gave me the ok. I will not be pushing myself but running a couple days a week and doing prenatal Pilates.

I'm doing turbo fire but no jumping and extra breaks 2x a week. Also sculpting 2x and walking. Hopefully I can do this roubtine throughout the pregnancy.
My doctor told me to cut way back which was 4-5 days a week with my trainer since I'm high risk. He gave the green light for aqua aerobics. A little bummed I won't be in my regular routine but I'm brewing two little coffee beans so Ive just been more careful about my diet and trying not to over indulge.
I have also been doing CrossFit for the past 2 years, 3 times a week as a way to stay in shape. I also do weight lifting by itself 2 days a week and the elliptical for 40 mins in the am when the little guy sleeps in (2-3 times a week). So far ms hasn’t kicked in so I’m eating as healthy and normal as before and still maintaing this schedule. I know it will be more difficult but I plan to follow cross fit moms if it does. My class is a mom’s group during the lunch hour and there are several girls pregnant in the group so they always modify the exercises to fit.
I used to be in incredible shape, worked out, ate crazy healthy, before I became pregnant with my son. I was really sick the first 12 weeks and overdid it on carbs to help the ms and I didn’t work out at all those first 12 weeks. I put on 20 lbs in those first trimester before I was able to work out again and not be sick and tired. It was all in my butt and legs. I managed to only gain 10 more lbs the rest of the pregnancy by eating healthy (only added 300 calories extra) and only doing the elliptical for 45 mins. I put on 10 lbs of water weight over the 10 days he was late and he was almost 10 lbs when he was born.
I ended up losing everything but 10 lbs within the first two weeks after he was born. I remember getting home so puffy from the c-section and weighed myself the next day and I had only lost a few lbs, the next day I had lost like 7 lbs and it just kept coming off crazy fast
I'm still lifting weights 5-6 days a week and Cardio 3 times a week but it will be a week Friday since I've known I was pregnant so we will see how it goes.
I'm on the elliptical right now. Doing this 2-3x a week, and running the boardwalk (2miles) once a week. I'll keep it up u til balancing on the elliptical is too hard.
