Coworker getting suspicious

After 3 trips to the bathroom in 1 hour, a coworker asked if I was feeling ok. I confirmed and said I was feeling just fine. I'm thinking I ought to tell her. She only works 2 days a week and mostly only when I am here. She sits next to me in a small department, so I think it would be safe. I wasn't planning on saying anything for a few more weeks at work. What do you guys think???

Re: Coworker getting suspicious

  • I wouldn't tell her JUST because she sees you get up to pee 40,000 times a day.   I mean, if you're close, and you want to tell her, then tell her.  I've told a few people at work because they either HAVE to know (like my boss) or because we're close friends.  The random other people don't know yet :-)

  • I wouldn't. I would just say you are drinking a lot more water these days.

  • It's totally your call, but I told some people outside DH and my mom and dad early in my last pregnancy and I totally regretted it.

  • I wouldn't tell her either. She could have been genuinely concerned that you were sick and if you confirmed you aren't, I bet it won't cross her mind again.

I think the "drinking more water to be healthy" is a legit excuse you could use if she starts fishing for another answer.

  • And my boss wants me to have drinks with her on Monday evening! And a coworker is joining us and I have drank wine with these ladies before so I am going to have to act so indecisive about what to drink that I'll just stick with water or I may feel like I need to spill the beans.
  • I wouldn't either just because you are peeing. Even the most well meaning people have a tough time keeping secrets. As for drinks, could you mention casually today that you and dh are starting south beach diet soon? I've used that before as its a diet that says zero alcohol for the first 2 weeks.

  • Thanks all. It's one of those I want to tell, but I don't. It's hard for me to say I want to be 'more healthy', because I'm not all that unhealthy and that excuse wouldn't fit my personality. It would just make people more suspicious. I may next week complain of a sore throat, which is why the increase in fluids and peeing if it comes down to it.
