When did u start potty training?

My dd1 is only 13mo old but seems to be showing the "readiness" signs. I had no intentions of potty training her until next summer around may. She is walking well, helps pull down her skirts, stays dry through the night and at nap time, she goes into another room to poop, and when she pees or poops she comes to us and grabs her diapers in the front or back accordingly. It's just she seems so young. And trying to potty train with a 5 wk old and exclusively BF'ing will be quite a challenge.

Would u give it a try or wait til she's older?

    My DD#1 was ready when DD#2 was 5 weeks old...she was 21 months old. I only trained her then because my husband was still home on paternity leave. She wanted her diaper changed right away at that point and it was easier to try potty training. I did the 3 day potty training. I also EBF and as long as your LO can pull their pants down and sit on the potty and then wait for you for a minute you should be fine.

    3 day potty training worked for us. DD#1 had actually been using the potty at night after her bath willingly since 12 months old. So she was already familiar with using a potty. For 3 day potty training we did naked from the waist down with a potty always in the room she was playing in for 3 days. Then we did pants with out underwear for at least 1 month before having her wear underwear.
    I would tell her "let mommy know if you need to go potty" and when she went I would jump up and with a wild celebration pee pee dance that made her laugh. By day 3 she had maybe 1 accident.

    We did a modified 3 day method and she was PT for day and naps at 22 months.

    DD1 was ready at 20 months, but I was 36 weeks pregnant and not ready. So we held off until the summer when DD1 was 27 months. We also used a modified 3 day method and it worked well. There were lots of accidents the first day or two, but then it clicked and things are going pretty well. She still has occasional accidents, but we're only 1.5 months in, and in general she does really well with self-initiation. Good luck!

    Oh, and FWIW, my mom says that I started to refuse to wear diapers when I was a year old and by 18 months was completely PTed. So it can work.
