DW Update-Breech and Low Fluids

Last week we found out that the baby is sitting frank breech and my wife's amniotic fluid was low at a 7, normal range I believe is around 20.  We went in for our 36 week appointment this morning and the baby is still breech and it's probably due to the fact that the fluid level dropped to a 4, so there just doesn't seem to be enough to allow the baby to move.  Also nixes the option of a manual version.

She had a non-stress test to monitor the vitals of the baby and he's doing fine.  Apparently, the lower the fluid levels, the higher the risk of the cord being compressed and cutting off blood supply to the baby.  We have to go to the hospital on Saturday for another one of these NST's and fluid checks.  Theoretically, if the fluid level drops to a 2 or the NST shows anything abnormal at any point now, the doctor will immediately send us to the hospital for a C-section.  It could've been today actually.

In any case, I just wanted to give you guys an update.  I'll be sure to let you know if we have to make any unscheduled trips to the hospital.  DW and I are feeling pretty good considering all of this.  At this point, we just want a healthy baby.

@LuckyDad  Thanks man.  I appreciate it.  Also, very nice Lone Star avatar.  You get a love tit for that.

  • Hope the baby is able to hang in there for at least a little while longer, though at this point along the baby should have little to no problems being born today, Saturday, or whenever the day comes.
  • Hang in there man. Hope everything turns out well for you guys.

If it helps, my DW delivered at 37 weeks to a C-section and everything turned out fine. I know it's tough and not the plan, but futantjr is just anxious to meet you.

  • Good luck.

We were sent to the hospital for low fluid as well.  They tried to induce but we ended up with a c-section later that day.  I was shocked how quickly and well the c-section was done.

  • Thanks guys!  The good thing is this is motivating the shit out of me to finally get the hospital bags packed and the car seat installed in my car.  I've been procrastinating because in my mind we still had another few weeks to go.  Lesson learned...you simply cannot plan shit when it comes to labor and delivery.

  • We're 4 weeks behind you, and our minion is breech as well. Fluid level is okay still though. Good luck, Nature boy.

Good luck to you and @T3hKay as well!  Your little one has plenty of time to flip around.  Plus she seems like such a badass that she could will the baby to move via the matrix.
