1. How will you be when you have your baby? 36

2. Will you be a working Mom or a stay at home Mom? Working Mom

3. How many children do you have and their ages? One DS he is 4 years old.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? I have my career in order. I've been with my employer for 13 years and it is flexible since they know my commitment to work.

5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Being an older grandparent. My parents were 34 and 38 when they had me and my sister so they are older grandparents plus myself be AMA makes them older when their second grandchild comes along. They are healthy and active but it makes me sad that they probably won't be at my kids weddings.
6. What is your favorite movie? Any chick flick I'm a sucker for.

5. The disadvantage to AMA would be all the added testing and worry that goes on during pregnancy that wouldn't under 35.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? Stability with marriage and work. We are ready and able to care for a child. Plus, I had A LOT of fun during my 20s and early 30s.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? I agree that the added worry has been difficult along with not being able to get pregnant right when we started trying.
6. What is your favorite movie? So many....The Godfather, 16 Candles, Clueless............

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? Deeper Faith, stable/wonderful marriage, steady income, emotionally stable, own home, just different priorities period and able to laugh at myself more
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Stress with TTC, maybe less energy than in my 20's
6. What is your favorite movie? So many, how do I choose! Harry Potter...okay so maybe some of the kid is still inside

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? I really don't know. I have yet to be able to see a difference. All my friends have had their kids after 35 too.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? My parents are just getting up in years. My dad, though active at 70, won't be able to really be running around after small children.
6. What is your favorite movie? Top three: Almost Famous, Love Jones, Dogma

I am thrilled and know what a blessing this pregnancy is!

I am 40.

I am going to be a working mom. Luckily, my work is flexible and we only go in the office once a week (hubby works at same place and has similar schedule).

First babies - having boy / girl twins

Advantage - financial and career stability. I am using up a lot of goodwill and positive reputation right now with an irregular work schedule due to hospital bed rest. Lots more patience! In my 20s, I don't think I could have handled it.

Disadvantage - It took us just over 3 years to concieve. I am on hospital bed rest and will probably be until delivery. I don't know if it is age related. The doctors say it is because of twins and IVF though. I will say my patience is improved so maybe they offset each other.

Depending on my mood - Usual Suspects or Harold and kumar go to White Castle.

3. How many children do you have and their ages? Son-13, Daughter-5, Twin Girls-22 months
4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? This may sound tacky, but being able to pull the "35+ and pregnant" card when I need a break, lol. I'm also a lot more chill. I'd like to claim I am more mature, lol.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Increased risk, trying to stay involved in my older kids' school/social activities so they don't miss out, just because of me.
6. What is your favorite movie? Haven't been to a grown up movie in a long time, so I'll go with The Princess Bride and A Christmas Story. Everything else is probably something Pixar.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? We have quite clearly shocked our friends and family with our announcement and their excitement for us is palpable. I'm really feeling blessed with all the love. Plus, I have friends who've been through it before and have been so supportive.

5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Adding up how old I'm going to be for milestones.

6. What is your favorite movie? No single favorite; Jean de Florette, Manon des Sources, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Corpse Bride.

I will be 40 but will turn 41 just 3 months after birth.

I will SAH as long as I can. Pretty stressed about the finances but I'm hoping my DH will grow up and be more responsible with money...if he can learn to put his family first we'll be ok.

I have no other children.

I think the main advantage for me as an AMA mom is that I know exactly how much I want this and appreciate it more than I would have when I was younger because of all I went through to get here.

The biggest disadvantage I think is not as much energy as when I was younger. I know it's going to be harder keeping up with a toddler. Also, I hate the thought that our daughter will be on the younger side when she loses her parents. I feel really guilty about that. I want to make sure she has a really strong younger support system to help her through it.

I love movies. So many favorites. A few on that list: When Harry Met Sally, Pretty In Pink, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Charlotte's Web.

1. 41 but my birthday is 2 weeks after my due date. I doubt they will let me go late though.
2. SAH but I home school my older kids.

4. Advantages of AMA is that I don't take crap from anyone
5. Disadvantage of AMA is the assumption that something bad may happen because of age.
6. Don't really have a favorite movie. I like Sci-fi though.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? I grew up, got my craziness out of my system, did some traveling and was ready for this change in my life. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything!

1. I'll be 38 2. Working mum. DH will SAH. There is no way I could give up work, I love it too much. And I need adult interaction, I'm an extrovert, DH is an introvert. 3. First one !! Eeeek 4. Being confident, lived life, know when not to take crap, understanding the meaning of family, coming from a generation that understands discipline! Being stable mentally (?)' financially and emotionally. 5. Scary, everyday I wonder if everything is ok as it took us so long to get here. Scared it'll take just as long for number 2, being old while the kids are still young. 6. Too many to choose from, but I love labyrinth with David Bowie, I can watch any cheesy crap, sci fi and horror

2. Working after maternity leave of a minimum of 6 months but going to push that as far as possible. Ideally would go back parttime for a year or so but unlikely that I'll be able to. Considering SAH husband later on when baby is a little older.

3. Will be our first child!! Unfortunately we lost our first baby @ 22w 5d two years ago. Took two years to become pregnant again. Very happy now

4. Advantages-lots! Mainly more settled and more responsible.Feel ready.

5. Disadvantages-Tired,tired,tired....Freaking out about everything (especially after late miscarriage).

6.Too many to say!!

I have another question to add to the list if I may. It's for AMA first time mothers. Do you think you may have only one child due to age?

I do think this will be our only child. I have been through so much in the past 2 years and I don't know if I could start over and do this all again. I think I would feel differently if I were younger.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? As many others have stated- financial & emotional stability, we've been married for 12 years so we have had time to travel & be "selfish"
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Hoping that our parents (his grandparents) are able to enjoy him, even as they approach 70; also now that I'm in my last trimester I feel about 1000 years old!
6. What is your favorite movie? Anything with Will Ferrell
7. Will this be the last/only child: very possibly, but being a FTM it is hard to say.

I am, and will be 43.

I freelance from home, so both.

This will be our first!

I think the biggest advantage is that I feel much more grounded and have better coping skills than I did in my 30s.

The two disadvantages are (a) everyone wants me to have all sorts of additional monitoring and tests, which is stressful because my insurance won't cover them - at all - and (b) there's no peer group except for places like this. All of my friends are either childfree at this point, or their kids are teenagers. And most of the new mothers or pregnant women I meet are in their late 20s and early 30s.

I suck at picking favorite anythings... but I like science fiction, fantasy, spy movies, heists, cartoons, and comedies.

This will very likely be our only child - partly due to my age, but more because I don't think we're up to the stress and financial strain of two kids.

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? Financially stable, great marriage to an amazing husband, good support system.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Other than being called AMA?..lol. I have heard you are more tired in general and some struggle with the loss of your "freedom" to do anything at the drop of a hat (good thing I married a planner). But honestly to me it is having a baby that will never get to know it's amazing Grandmother as my mom passed away 5 years ago. I think having this baby has stirred up all of those emotions especially since she ran a mom and baby program for public health for years and was considered the "town grandma". Wish she was here for mine.

Will you be a working Mom or a stay at home Mom? at first, a full time student, baby will be born in late January/early February and for the Spring semester I'll only take ceramics since I'll be finished with all my pre-reqs and waiting to apply for the radiology program, which will work perfectly since it will be the only course where taking 3 weeks off won't be a big issue (self-paced). Then by end of May I will go full-time into the radiology program for 1 year and then to work.
3. How many children do you have and their ages? I have a 7 yr old boy and a 10 yr old girl
4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? I know more! I finally know who I am and what I want to do with my life. I'm calmer and have the experience to figure things out. I know what things are important and how not to sweat the small stuff. Having waited so long for this precious gift, I feel like I appreciate it so much more.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? health issues and it's a little weird sometimes having friends my own age who have grandchildren and here I am pregnant, but really, nothing major.
6. What is your favorite movie? Sweet Home Alabama, What Happens in Vegas, The Proposal, just about any romantic comedy, but I don't get to see a whole lot of grown-up movies, really loving the Despicable Me movies and Turbo was so stinking cute.

3. How many children do you have and their ages? no other kids (unless you count very spoiled pets) -- this will be the first human child

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? I should never have that feeling that I wish I had done something or another before I had kids -- hubby and I did a good job having fun the last 10 years. And I fully intend that fun to continue, just in a different way
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? so many tests! And I have already received some "old' comments, probably not meanly intended but do I need to be reminded all the time?

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? Financial stability- I love that we can afford to do the fun "extras", DH and I had a decade with it just being us- I think that is important.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? Energy level, the thought of her losing her parents early, if they choose to delay having children we may have limited time with our grandchildren.
6. What is your favorite movie? Father of the Bride and Steel Magnolias are my two all time favorites

4. What is an advantage of being an AMA mom? Financial stability, completed education/degrees, and being more emotionally ready.
5. What is the disadvantage of being a AMA mom? The added expense of rising health care costs in general (as opposed to my out of pocket cost in 2008) and the additional tests that OBs sometimes prefer.
6. What is your favorite movie? Don't really have one.
