Went back to acupuncture.

The first time I did IUI cycles I did acupuncture with the 3rd and successful cycle. The acupuncturist I used was not particularly close to work or home so this time I have switched to one close to work so I can go at lunch. Well, they were a little different. The first one PUSHED Chinese Herbs like she was getting a hefty commish. This one didn't even mention them. This one though had this machine that measured my energy. A little strange but OK. For those of you that use or have used acupuncture do they also encourage Chinese Herbs and/or have you experienced this machine? Do yours do other things (besides the actual acupuncture)? Just curious.
TTC since 2009 started going to RE 5/2011:

7/2011 IUI#1 w/ 150 Follistim/Ovidrel trigger BFN
8/2011 IUI#2 w/225 Follistim/Ovidrel trigger BFN

    I just started acupuncture last month after my loss, but yes I do feel like all the herbs are constantly being pushed on me. I am not on a medicated cycle so I took the tea but I have decided not to do that anymore.

    I am hypothyroid as well so I am worried about what is doing to my numbers!

    Me:36 DH:38 TTC#1 since 4/2012
    Me DX: Hashimotos,Hypothyroid, DOR, MTHFR,  DH: normal

     IUI #1-#4 BFNs and a few cancelled cycles in the mix.
    - poor responder
    ***Suprise BFP on 6/13/13. Natural MC @6wks 3days
    IVF#1 and 2- Cancelled due to no response on max stimms
    FET 5/20- BFP
    1st Beta- 641
    2nd beta- 2166
    Sono- TWINS!!!!
    Two Boys! Born January 2015 @36 weeks.  Healthy and no NICU!  So blessed!

    Mine didn't push at all and I asked her so she wrote me a prescirption.  From what I know about chinese herbs they are usually very gentle so you won't see any effect right away. I don't think it will hurt you in anyway.  But then of course, I am a little bias because I am Chinese and grow up with herbal medicine.

    Acupuncturists aren't necessarily herbalists, so unless they are trained in herbs I doubt they will push them, as jchow said they are usually gentle and you don't see the effects immediately, they take longer to work.

    The machine is just that a machine that measures the energy flowing through your meridians - which has been proven to exist (not that I have ever doubted their existance).

    Me: 41 DH: 46. We are TTC our 1st, started July '11,
    3 cycles clomid with Ob,
    1 cycle Tamoxifen with Ob,
    Diagnosed PCOS 11/5/12
    clomid, trigger & timed bd 12/12 BFN
    1st clomid IUI 1/4/13 BFN.
    2nd clomid IUI 2/13 cancelled didn't respond to clomid.
    3/15/13 scheduled laparoscopy & on bcp.

    May 10 IUI from injectibles - BFN 

    May 22 done with interventions it will either happen or it won't. 

    February 2014 No longer actively trying, but not preventing. 

    SURPISE BFP 4/2/2015!!!!!!!!!!

    Miscarriage 4/23/15

    I only did one session and no Chinese herbs or machines were mentioned. Actually from a marketing standpoint I thought it was weird because I was doing a free trial and they never mentioned anything about coming back or pricing or anything. I guess I'm jaded but I was leaving and thought, "wait, no sales pitch? How weird!" Never gotten anything free without one!
    Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

    My AP only recommended herbs if I had started my next cycle..which I didn't, I got a BFP during the 1st mo. of acupuncture. I had my first session right after my cycle, consultation went great, she added additional supplements, small diet change, no caffeine..the wine consumption was the hardest part for me!

    I couldn't afford to go twice a week, so I go once a week. I made sure I came in prior to my fertile window and afterwards. We've been trying naturally for 18mo. and this was shocking! I'm a little over 6wks., and I'm continuing acupuncture this entire pregnancy.

    Just make sure your going to someone who specializes in fertility. Good luck!
