So far, so good. We chose Juliet (no middle name yet!). We really haven't come out with it yet because we still have this teeny tiny question of whether it is the best choice. I received good feedback from you ladies and on the baby name board. I feel really good about it overall.
Our families don't like Sadie for a girl but everyone else does. I don't think anyone is thrilled with our boy name, Carson, either. But oh well. It's our child, not theirs.
Just want you to know, I absolutely LOVE both of your names! Beautiful!
Aw, thank you

The name we came up with is Slate. DH and I absolutely love the name but my parents think it's too tough, too hard, too cool, might be hard for LO to live up to. It's sounds like a fighter, a rough tough name. What do you guys think of the name? I've changed it back to the other name we both liked, so I'm still not sure between the names. But Slate sounds so sexy to me, so cool. What you think?
With our first, everyone loved "Addison". With our second, my mom hated "Avery" but I loved it and I'm sure my mom is over the whole "sounds like stationary" thing by now. We haven't settled on this one yet but are thinking "Aubrey" and FIL hates it, says its too old fashioned. Oh well I guess... We probably won't announce a final name until she's born.. I don't have the energy to deal with the BS and all the suggestions..
We haven't told much family because I don't want to hear it.. but people are thrown off by Remy.. like "you mean Remington?" "no we aren't naming him after a gun"
Remy was on our boy name list but we got " Like Rémy Martin?" Tells you what kind of crowd we hang out with!

I've actually never heard of Slate as a name. I do like Slade, though, so that's pretty close!

I might be slightly biased because Avery is my daughter's name. BUT I LOVE IT VERY MUCH!

I went to college with a guy named Remy. He's a nice guy. Good choice.
We aren't telling anyone because we don't want to deal with anyone else's reaction. It's literally the only girl's name we like and we don't need anyone else's opinion on what to name our kid. Plus, we figure since we told everyone the sex, we would make this a surprise when she's born.
We got good and bad reactions with names and even had a cousin who was due a month earlier name her child our boy choice. This time I think we might keep it to ourselves to avoid that and the negativity.
We are naming our daughter Vaida. Some love it, some hate it... I don't care either way. My dad gave me one of the "gag" faces when we told him. It really doesn't bother me. It's a real name. It's not like I've made something crazy up.
We came up with our girls name after my misscarriage 2 years ago. We don't have any boys names picked as we used the only ones we could agree on my DS. We are using Morgan for our daughter. I find out Friday if its still a girl.
@emmabobemma You stole our names X( Just kidding. I think Molly is our frontrunner, I love Maggie too.
If people ask, I tell them some names we're talking about. But since we're not discussing any names that are too crazy, I don't get much backlash. I'm not a fan of having a name set in stone before the baby is born so we won't be making a final decision until then.

The baby will be named after my father wether it's a boy or a girl. I'm 1 of 5 girls, so I learned from my mother you can't always assume you'll have both genders. I've received rather mixed reviews and a lot of "I didn't think you were serious" comments. My family and my father, who is it matters the most to, outside of BD and I, all like the idea. Girl, Mark Anne, boy Mark Allen.
We're having a boy, and our boy name, Oliver Bennett, is well loved by EVERYONE. Our original girl name, however (Amelia) was hated.
My father actually said it's a 'fat girl' name. My mom said it was 'suitable for an old biddy'. We changed it to Nora eventually, not because of their opinions though.
I don't want to share... I don't even have a name yet, but we made the mistake of discussing names with my parents when we first found out, and my dad had something funny to say about every name I kind of liked haha. Not in a mean way, but still it sucked.
For the most part people like the name Logan we chose for our little guy.
However, I live right outside Boston and about 5 min from Logan Airport so my FIL keeps calling him airport....H and I just jokingly say maybe we'll make airport his middle name. I really don't care if people like it or not, H and I do.

The vast majority of people say they love it, I've had a few "that's interesting" comments, and one woman told me I was doing my child a disservice by giving her a name with the letter y in it because she'll have to write below the line when signing in cursive.
I only told my parents and my MIL for right now and it will stay that way until after the baby is born. I let my guard down for one second and told a neighbor we were thinking about Kenneth and she gave me a disgusted look and said "What about Jack?" Her daughter's name is Jackie. Really lady? You want me to name my son after your daughter? Then said "good luck naming your baby after a Barbie." Then she told me that I needed to give birth on the 14th (my due date is the 8th) because that is the birthday of her dead ex-boyfriend who was also her daughter's father. Yea ok. He was a married man who was having an affair with her and many other women. He apparently has many children with many different people. He died because he wasn't paying child support for any of them and when the cops came to get him, he had a heart attack. Let me get right on that for you.
We told everyone, mostly b/c there are a lot of babies being born in H's family and I can just see what happens if there are two of the same name. We picked Madison Renee. Madison is for the street the Blackhawks (Madhouse on Madison) play, and Renee for my sister. My Dad wants us to use one of his family members names, but the two he gave me are used in other members of the family. You can't win them all. :P
We have 2 first names Sawyer and Jensen and no middle names. So far no one is thrilled with them. But then again my family is filled with not so normal names.

We made the mistake of telling people some of our original ideas and now mums the word. I have only really talked about names here on TB and with 1 or 2 friends.

Sawyer Harrison was our boy name and everyone that knew about it loved it!
Once people meet the baby and fall in love - they fall in love with the name (even if they didn't like the name pre baby) so we are waiting. NO negative opinions wanted
I have decided that when I have another, we're not telling. After my dad told me that he "hopes I have a girl, because Jude is so awful", I decided no more after this one. We kept the name Jude, because we did end up saying "our kid, our name". But I was heartbroken for awhile.

I absolutely love this name! When I was a child, my babydolls and barbies were all named Vaida! I had an obsession with the movie My Girl. Very cute name
Half the people like it - the other half of the people say it's too similar to mine. Alisen Danielle, but I go by Alee. In all honesty, I don't care. I fell in love with the name Eli, and Daniel was my grandfathers name (who's birthday I was born on a minute after he passed away). Everyone who doesn't like it is welcome not to be around my son. Simple as that, haha.

My H just threw the name "Silence" out there tonight. Someone come help me talk some sense into this boy. Note: we have been disagreeing on names since we found out it was girl, but guess who has been perusing origin after origin? Once we decide, we will only be telling our parents till after baby is here. I could care less what others think.
Everyone we tell loves it and thinks it's a strong boy's name. My MIL, however, said I need to make sure kids don't make fun of him because of his name. That was after the disgusted look on her face. Oh well!!! We like it
It's been a long road of infertility and loss for us, but we are finally expecting our Christmas miracle on December 24th!!!
