I would have made it a lot longer with one baby. Assuming my supply stayed up to par. Though tandem feeding never worked out well for me so nursing one baby at a time, left me little to no life and majority of my time spent topless haha
My supply appears to have just tanked within the past two days. I went from getting 4-5 ounces a pump (in total) to 2 ounces a pump.
I'm astounded at how sad I feel today.
I'm hoping it rebounds but am doubtful. LO has been in daycare for 2.5 weeks now - which has meant 2.5 weeks of hardcore pumping. I think what really did me in was the crazy day I had Saturday where I didn't pump enough and didnt drink enough water.
The only good news is that I had already started mixing her bottles with formula because the pedi wanted her eating more and I couldn't keep up that well, so it doesn't appear transitioning her will be a huge issue, other than bed time..... where she nurses to sleep

I EBF my daughter until 19 months. I plan to EBF DS until at least a year. I'm happy to nurse him until 2 or 2 1/2 years. I'm hopeful he will self-wean by then.
Hope to make it to a year. I will definitely stop pumping at that point, but will probably let her self-wean for nursing. DS did at just past a year, but I was pregnant at the time so that may have affected things since I wasn't producing much. Shouldn't have that problem this time!
Due to supply issues, I've had to supplement since 2 months. However, LO gets 60% BM and 40% formula. My plan in to continue this until 6 months at which point it will be 100% formula. But, will see. Plans always change and that is okay.
I chose special snowflake because I don't want to say I'm going to stop by 6 months or a year. I'm going to go AT LEAST 6 months, and then let DS guide the way.
As long as I can. I set a lot of goals with Charlie and focused on them so much I felt like a failure when we had to stop. This time, I'm not going to worry about it. We'll BF until we're done.
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
In the beginning I didn't think I'd make it 4 weeks let alone 4 months and now its gotten so much easier that I'm going to keep going as long as I can. I go back to work a week before LO turns 6 months and I'm going to try pumping at work but it'll be difficult so I'm just going with the flow ;-)
Technically, I stopped BF at 1 month. I began EPing and hope to keep doing so until I have enough stashed to give her thru 1 year old. She currently gets 4 6oz bottles per day (4 oz of BM & 2 oz of F), and I freeze 8-12oz.

I go back to work next week and have started pumping during the day & giving LO bottles to help with transition. My supply has dropped some and I know it will more once my pumping is more limited. I am going to try to go as long as I can. Even if she's not nursing at least she's getting BM.
I nursed my son for 18 months. I didn't plan to go that long but different things came up and that's what happened. I was surprised that i enjoyed nursing the most after he was over one year. I don't know if it was because by then it was so easy, or because the pressure was off because he could eat and drink other food by then, but it seemed to me that beyond one nursing became a lot more about bonding then it had been for us before.
Hope to make it to a year. I will definitely stop pumping at that point, but will probably let her self-wean for nursing. DS did at just past a year, but I was pregnant at the time so that may have affected things since I wasn't producing much. Shouldn't have that problem this time!
This is me, too. I wouldn't mind continuing to do a nighttime nurse into the first year, but I will follow DS's cues. I will wean off of the pumping at work once DS hits a year.

My goal was 6 months (which is in october) since I will be going back to work in 3 weeks and am not enthusiastic about pumping long term. I tried formula twice recently and both times led to peojectile vomiting. The pedi said that means I will probably need to use the hypoallergenic formula. I don't want the added cost of that, so I am upping my pumping goal from 6 months to as long as my supply will allow.
I was done breastfeeding by about 2.5 months but had so much frozen stash that I kept him on breastmilk for probably another 6 weeks while I introduced / transitioned him over to formula.
I was able to nurse for about 13 months with DD1, and between 15 and 18 months with DD2 (I think), so I would like to go about the same with DS. Like many of you, I'll let him self wean, probably sometime between his first and second birthdays.
Re: Breast feeding poll
Depending on my supply, I am going to try to make it at least a year.
