:::raises hand::::
This guy has been breech since our 20 week u/s and was transverse at my last (34 week) appt. He goes from being completely transferse to having his head lodged in my ribs. My OB says she can try to manually manipulate him at my 37 week appt if he's still not head-down and then hope he stays that way.
Anyone else dealing with the possibility of a c-section but it hasn't been confirmed yet?
And yes, I know he still has time to flip, I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of a c-section, especially since I was hoping for another med-free birth experience this time around.
Re: Who has transverse / breech LO's?
My OB is optimistic that since he has a lot of fluid (her words) he's just playing around in there and hasn't picked a position yet. We'll see.
I'm kind of terrified for her to try to manually manipulate his position though.
ETA: We opted out of the external version. I was not ok with the idea of pushing on my baby just so I can have the labor I prefer, and because it isn't very successful. I have been doing some spinningbabies exercises though.

I haven't yet, but have just started reading up on some of them. Any ones you did you'd care to share?
The more reading I'm doing about external manipulation, the more I'm leaning towards not having my OB go that route. It just seems too risky (and painful!) for only an average of a 65% success rate.
Our LO has been transverse since day 1. She seems quite content in this position! I have been seeing a Chiropractor trained in the Webster technique to get her to flip for about 3 weeks and she isn't budging. I think he is starting to lose hope too.
I do not have very much fluid and was told last week that it's working against me. I am going to give it one more week, if she doesn't flip, I am going to prepare for a csection.
I did inversions for 1 minute 2-3x per day

Dont give up hope! My guy flipped over the weekend. Painful? Kind of but he still did it, albeit not to the correct position.
Frank breech over here, since 20wks. I've been trying breech tilts, just started going to the chiro yesterday for Webster technique, but I will only be able to make it to 4 of the recommended 6 appts, at not with ideal timing (I have a week between one of them). My MW is not very optimistic, since my AFI is low and she doesn't have as much of a pool to turn around in.
As much as I try to mentally prepare myself for it, I would be pretty devastated to have a c/s. If she doesn't turn in 2 weeks, they said they could try an ECV, which I was on board with, but now I'm starting to question because I'm really concerned about the stress on baby and the possibility of a cord accident during or sometime after (even though I haven't done research on that part of it). I just REALLY really hope this girl turns so I can stop stressing about it.
I spit out my water, I will send you the bill if my keyboard takes a crap. Also, the Webster technique worked after my first visit. **fingerscrossed for you**
@shanmarie1083: what position is best to sit in? I have heard a lot about how you sit being good/bad, but not what is actually a good or bad position. I usually sit with my feet on the floor, semi-reclined on the couch.
@SoCalBrandi: I asked several midwives (including mine) and they all recommended starting breech techniques (like tilts, Webster, etc) at ~34wks. Earlier than that, they're more likely to flip back, later than that, and you don't have as much time to get them to try to turn before the 36-37wk time frame that they'll do an ECV (if that's what you choose) or sched a c/s.

@shanmarie1083: did you know when baby finally turned? I'm worried I won't know and will make it worse by still doing the breech exercises. My next u/s and appt isn't for 2wks
My doc had been unsure of the position for a couple weeks and so sent me for a u/s which confirmed breech, yesterday. After some discussion I've agreed to a ECV which is scheduled for this afternoon. I'm a little nervous, TBH, but from the YouTube clips online and from a few personal anecdotes its not too painful and generally doesn't last too long. After doing lots of research, IMO the potential benefits outweigh the risks. I have no other risk factors.
Wish me luck ladies.
