Type of ultrasound?

1st appt tomorrow & I was told I would have ultrasound. With DS I was further along before I had one. So......do I get a regular ultrasound....... Or that damn wand up my vag ( transvaginal ultrasound)??? Just need to prepare myself...... Thanks for any insight

At 8w3d I'd expect the dildo cam.

How far along are you? I was exactly 8w when I had my first US and mine was transvaginal. My friend is due a day before me and she had a transvaginal one around 7 weeks.

It depends how far along you are. I'm mobile so I can't see if you have a siggy it not, but I think anything before 10 ish weeks would be transvag. Even 10 wks is still early for an abdominal ultrasound I think.

I had mine today. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Just awkward. I was so nervous but it is not terrible or worth the amount of worrying I did.

I did mine at what we thought was 8 weeks ended up being 6 wks 5 days and did regular on the belly.

Ok- yes for those who can't see my signature- I'm a little over 8 weeks. I may not go for transvaginal. I have no complications etc.......if they can find a HB that may b good enough for me. Thanks for responses......

Bahahahaha! Dildo cam! I just had my first transvaginal ultrasound on Friday and I told DH it looked like a sex toy. Didn't feel nearly as good though! Lol! 8-}

I had a transvaginal one last week at 7 weeks 2 days. I have another one scheduled tomorrow to monitor a cyst. I expect that on to be transvaginal as well.
