No...just use the free and clear stuff. We started with Tide Free and Gentle I think it's called and switched to ALL free and clear because Sams Club has it in large quantities. We didn't have any trouble with either of them with DD but she hasn't seemed to have very sensitive skin, I think it depends on your LO.
No Not necessary I prefer non scented or cloth diaper detergent for baby clothes
My kids broke out with red blotches when i used super smelly detergent for my own clothes. I switched to a "Free" detergent after that and had no problem. I also like the cloth diaper detergents because they are so mild and they don't have any irritants in them.
Occasionally babies will have a reaction to a particular detergent brand (for example, a good friend's DS is allergic to Tide but can use other brands with no problem), but for the most part any perfume/dye free detergent will do.
Well it's not a scam, but it's not really necessary. Any other fragrance free detergent will work just as wel.
Isn't it more expensive than normal detergent??? I always thought it was, which in my mind = scam!
Well it's not identical to the other free and clear detergents. They are different companies and have different chemical make ups. There is a wide range of prices of all detergent. Anytime you label something for a specialty demographic that will increase the price. That's just economics. I don't really see it as a scam, but I see how others could see that.
