This is my 9th cycle. My midwife that I usually see is starting her own practice and I am going to stay with the practice that I am at for finanical and geographical reasons.
Well, I spoke to her at cycle 6 and she said to give it a few more cycles and to call back. It's been a few more cycles and nada.
I am starting to get antsy, and just want to make sure nothing is wrong.
Re: How long of TTC before calling ob/gyn?
Do you chart? That might help things. I am on cycle 3 and already antsy!
Are you charting? ? ?Because if you are charting and you clearly see that you are ovulating and having sex at the appropriate times, then that might make me call the dr sooner than if I wasn't charting. ?
?
(Holy run-on sentence)?
ditto that. If you're charting and you can clearly see thing are "right", I would be pushing harder to be seen.
As long as you are ovulating I think it's the standard to go a full year of TTC before exploring things that may be wrong (this is also age dependant, I know my OB will send you sooner if you are over 35).
My OB sent me to a RE (Fertility Doc) after 8 months because I never got AF after my IUD was removed.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
First time TTC I had my annual appt during my 10th month TTC. I was charting; showed my charts to my dr. We were going to start IF testing the next cycle but I didn't need to b/c I got pg.
The next time I had my annual appt at 9 months of TTC, again charting, etc. We went ahead and started noninvasive IF testing, with the agreement that we wouldn't test anything invasively until it had been a full year. My b/w showed slightly wonky hormone levels, but not off enough that the OB wanted to do anything (frustrating to me!). Anyway, I got pg a cycle before we would have started more invasive tests.
GL to you and Bubbly (and anyone else in this position)! I know firsthand how much it sucks. I'd go ahead and call. What's the worst - they say call back in a few months? Or maybe they'll let you come in and start figuring things out now.
