I flipped out on MH when he tried to get away with wearing his "comfy" socks (aka: white) to our wedding. UH! I think not, mother effer! Go get yourself some nice black dress socks!!
WTF is wrong with some men??
Until 3 years ago, DH did not OWN dress shoes. Every nice event, he wore his workboots with his suit because at least they were black. Most men do not understand the importance of nice footwear.
my husband still doesn't own dress shoes, in fact he doesn't own dress pants. Dressed up for him means a collar shirt instead of a T-shirt, dark wash jeans sans holes, and his "nice" aka not dirty cowboy boots. hahaha. Sad now that I think about it that in 4 years together we haven't ever gone anywhere that, that attire wasn't acceptable! Other than our wedding of course (he wore a uniform)
@jill9288 I feel the same way. My grandpa is a fruit farmer and from him I know that "certified organic" only means up to a limited amount of pesticides, so not everything labeled organic is pesticide free anyway. I never buy organic, and for something as thick-skinned as a sweet potato, that seems ridiculous. Maybe if we were talking pears or strawberries that'd be different.
I'm considering just going to the local store, grabbing some regular ones, and taking the stickers off. Who's going to know
You'll have the most beautiful sweet potatoes out of the bunch. :-)
Yep you took that the totally wrong way. What Im saying is they arent bad dogs unless tauht to be that way and I dont get why they are treated like they are bad. I didnt bring up other dogs because they werent being talked about. Calm down.
No need to "calm down"; I'm not hyped up. Just discussing love for the bully breed.
she wasn't even hyped up, but you did try and stereotype "bully breed" owners which is just as ill informed as stereotyping the dogs themselves. I thought she was pretty polite in her response considering.
I can't stand it when parents let their kids watch tv and play on computers and iPads and such all or most of the day... Take that kid outside! Parks, the zoo, backyard, or something! Or play a board game, bake a cake, or actually read to them and play with them! I know so many people that will turn the tv on for their child and leave them in front of it for hours. I can't stand it!
And for heaven's sake can the parent turn off THEIR devices while engaged in said activity?! You know it's bad when you're the only parent actually PLAYING at the park with your kids as the other five sit on the sidelines "plugged in."
I automatically judge any parent who has to put their child on a leash in public. There is nothing cute about handling your child like an animal, no matter how "cute" the little backpack animal the leash is connected to is. X_X
@BlondieBia21 Just a different perspective for you...
My husband is visually impaired, you can't tell just by looking at him from across the room and sometimes his cane is cumbersome (he is not alone, there are quite a few of his VI friends that leave their canes at home). We will be using a leash when he takes LO out in public alone. Personally I am grateful there is something that will make it possible for them to go out on their own.
I know our situation is very unique and I definitely used to do my own judging but you just never know.

I appreciate you pointing out another situation with them, as that wasn't something I had ever thought about. That is true, you just never know.
To piggyback off of @MrsBlindLove, I'm not a fan of the leashes either, but my cousin has a little boy who falls somewhere on the autism spectrum, and they use a leash for him when they're out. I've personally seen him run away several times when he gets overwhelmed just in a family situation, I can't imagine taking him out in a large crowd.

The leashes thing comes up every week. To say that ahole saying, before I was a parent I judged a lot, and I judged harshly. Now that I've been through that stage (and fortunately mine weren't runners, but after hours in disneyworld or where-ever their little arms would get sore from being up) I'm just happy that they are giving a darn and trying to keep their kid safe vs the multitude of craptastic parents who let their kid run around everywhere completely unaware.
Here's my UO... Feet are gross and do not belong in siggys.
I agree. Feet are nasty.
It's not a UO to me but I also hate white socks with brown or black shoes.
Oh god! That is the worst! I have a friend that does that all the time! He thinks because he's wearing pants and his socks are mostly covered its ok! But it most certainly is not!!!

I guess I'm lucky - DH has a ton of dress socks and makes sure he coordinates them to his shirt and pants. Gotta love a man who makes sure he looks good before walking out the door.
DH is an amazing dresser, our friends call him GQ because he's always dressed great. He's a bank manager and has to wear a suit and tie everyday. I have to make sure his female customers stay in check because he sure looks sexy in his proper fitting suit with coordinating accessories. From head to toe he takes pride in his appearance and I'm so thankful for that.
He also has more clothes than I do, lol. I'm working to correct that once I'm back to my ideal weight post baby
I'm all for giving congratulations, but I hate when someone bumps all the announcements to the top.
Also, I'm sick of the leash debate. Do what you've gotta do, or don't. Whichever.

Omg! This is one of my worst parenting pet peeves as well! It's so awful to see that!

So let me get this straight, it is so awful to see my son walking happily along and perfectly content? It must NOT be awful to hear him scream at the top of his damn lungs because he wants to walk instead of sit. No, no. I should just control my 2 year old, right? Force him to sit in a stroller that he doesn't want to be in and somehow make him "shut the fuck up" while doing it? That's not going to happen. Then I will get judged, side-eyed and yelled at for letting him scream and cry. So then what? Please tell me, oh mighty perfect one. Should I just let him out of the stroller to walk by himself and hope he doesn't run off since my pregnant ass can't catch him?
Even if your kid isn't freaking out and is sitting calmly in the stroller I still don't get why that is socially acceptable but a leash is not (provided it is not being used to yank the kid around), especially when you consider the whole obesity thing we've got going on in this country.
My last name is Feet, hence the name and pic (of my little man's baby feet at a week old, taken by my best friend, who is NOT a professional photog, but who takes all our family pics because she is damn good and free)
... I love feet which appears to be my UO for today after reading all those that hate them! LoL
@ELauren88 I would not let MH wear white socks at a wedding either! Especially at our own! I was able to find some fun green argyle socks for all the guys to wear that matched our wedding colors. It was the only way I could be sure no one would wear some white socks. Lol!
Yea...MH is "that guy" that wears cargo shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes every day of his life. Sometimes I make it a deal breaker for certain events, but on the day to day..I just have to let it go. He's comfy, and he's not hurting anyone, plus he comes home from work FILTHY.
My H is a puppet-builder and painter, among other things, and his clothes often get paint, glue, rubber, etc, on them. I am constantly bugging him to not wear certain clothes, because he'll just put on whatever, and then go work in it, and come home with another shirt or pair of pants ruined. One day for some reason he wore his only good black dress shoes and ended up painting in them, and now they have little blue splatters all over them. I have to hide several pairs of pants in my own section of the closet so that he doesn't wear them to work in, so that if I need him to look decent, he's got pants that don't have glue or paint on them.
That is genius! My DH is the same way - I wonder why I never thought of that...
On the topic of men's fashions, my DH is an excellent dresser. Granted, he was born and raised in Italy, and he has an appreciation of nice clothes. He also looks awesome in a suit
As for the leash debate, it really doesn't bother me at all, except when people use it to jerk their kids around, which I have seen. I'd rather see a happy kid on a leash than a screaming kid in a stroller.

And I agree, my son's feet can be disgusting. Especially in summer sandals. Somedays he will take those things off in the car and I almost die! How can they be so nasty when he just had a bath? Gross!
I know it's not an UO but long nails on kids toes and fingers are the worst!! I teach piano lessons and the little boys have the longest, rattiest nails I've ever seen! My boys NEVER have grubby nails! I trim 80 (soon to be 100) fingers and toes every week.
I'm not weighing in on the debate as i could care less, but even this website (the bump) says that at 37 weeks baby is full term. If you click on the info about your fruit size it states that. I can understand confusion. Full term or not I just hope all the LO bake as long as they need to.
I don't understand how you're saying you didn't site TB as a reference... When you did.
I think she has made it clear..she is not saying the bumb is right or wrong, she is saying that she can understand why some people are confused because of the conflicting information out there..using the bump as an example.. As it has also been made clear..looking at the most recent, respected resources we can all safely agree 40 weeks is full term NOT 37z I feel like emr22 has made it clear her point was only to say she understands why some are confused she is not saying 37 is full term. She has said a few times she is not claiming the bump to be medical facts just using this one website as an example as to why some might be confused. I don't recall her ever saying she never referenced the bump..
Edited.
Can we say white knight alert? Eek.
Also, she did state the bump as a reference. We don't need you to try and clarify what was already CLEARLY stated.
I guess mine is that I don't care if other people use leashes or strollers or whatever else, provided the kids are safe and not disruptive. Do whatever works for you and yours, I'll do what works for me and mine (whatever that ends up being).

Well.... To clarify what I was meaning, is when a child is on a Leash and treated how you would treat a dog on one. So screw all of you that are "grossed out" by my siggy pic, and the fact that my husband is wearing white socks with brown shoes.
