Baby Names

twin girl names?

We just found out we are having twin girls. We have one girl already (Ava Elizabeth). We are having the hardest time agreeing on names DH likes more trendy modern names ( Alyssa, Alexa). I like more classic names ( Julia, Anna). I think he may have agreed to Julia but we still have another baby to name. Any suggestions?

  • If he likes Alexa, maybe you could talk him into Alexandra? Classic like your style, but has the trendy NN options.

  • Alexandra is a great option. We both love it. Does it go with Julia and Ava?
  • ... and thanks everyone for the suggestions. Giving names is the hardest part for me!
  • It doesn't use any of your current options, but it's not too far off - my favorite g/g twin names are Alice and Celia, because they're anagrams of each other. So it's wonderfully twinsy without seeming matchy at all. Plus, I love the names! And they seem to fit your style.

    Also PP Julianna!
  • Seems to me, since you're having two, you should each get to choose a name for one of them.  What a beautiful compromise!

  • Ava, Julia & Emma
All short, ending in a, classic without being too old fashioned.
  • Ava, Julia and Alexa all go wonderfully together. Win-win for you and your dh.

(Although, I personally like the more formal Alexandra which also goes well with the sibset!)
