Twins are due in November. We need to get new carriers. Will have 3 across. Has anyone done their homework yet or any BTDT MOMs have any recommendations? Want ones that are narrow and start at 4 lbs not 5. TIA
I really recommend going to Buy Buy Baby and doing a test run in your car. My hubby and I were shocked when the seats we wanted didn't work. And we have a minivan! The sales girl brought seats out and let us play with how to set it up and what would work best. We ended up with the Britax B safe. It works great with our stroller and they start at 4 lbs. love those seats!
We have the Chicco Keyfit30 and two of them fit in the back of our small SUV - they were the only brand that would. But like PP suggested, I'd go to a baby store and do a carseat test-drive. I refused to purchase the Keyfit until they put two in b/c others didn't make the cut even though sales people assured me the would. Good luck on getting 3 in - there are some smaller options available these days - so hopefully something will work

We have two Chicco Keyfits and a FF Diono radian for our 3yo across the second row of an Acura MDX. It's the same platform as the Honda Pilot and Odyssey.
It is surprisingly difficult to fit 3 car seats across safely. Very few cars can do it and you need to be very careful with your choice of seats.
For infant carriers, I went with Graco Snugride 30's because of the 4lb minimum weight limit. However, I never had to put 3 across with them in the carriers because we have a Toyota Sienna minivan and the babies are in the second row. We moved up to the Diono Radians (convertible seats only, not carriers) when they outgrew their Gracos. I had to use a loaner Camry from the dealer while my van was getting repairs. Even with the Radians, it was tricky installing them (rear facing) plus my 5 yr old's booster seat in the back seat. The passenger door had to bump against the booster seat. Someone on this board has posted a link to a website that has detailed info like this. But my bookmarks got deleted on the update. Maybe Google " insert whatever your vehicle is" with "3 seats across"

Do you think the Diono would still fit if it were RF? DD will be 2 1/2, I'm hoping to keep her RF. We have a Veracruz which does have a 3rd row but shes too little to buckle herself in. So we need 3 across for now.
