Sorry not trying to be rude but I don't like either. I'm not sure how to pronounce either and both sound made up.

For a girl or boy? Our first choice was Jaelyn for a girl, but l'm afraid the other option would be shortened to Jay, which I'm not fond of. Not made up, Jaelyn means ambitious. Think it's different, unique and not so different that child will constantly be asked how to say their name.

PAIF/SAIF welcome
I know two separate couples who named their daughters Jaelyn and Jayla, respectively. While neither are my personal style, of the two you chose I would have to go with Jaelyn. Jayleah doesn't flow to me at all. Jayla is also similar to those two. (Just to let you know that I have heard it before!)
They both seem you-neek to me. I wouldn't reccomend naming your child either. But they sound very similar to tried-and-true names. Would you consider Jacqueline or Julia?

I would go with the uncontracted 'Jacqueline'. So pretty. In all honesty, 'American origin' tells me.... Made up at some point, unless it's Native American in origin, I apologise. You know though, if you like it, I guess you're going to do it, hey? If you're polling to give you a nudge in any direction, I think you may have your answer. Good luck with the naming!!
