Probably a silly question...

but can LO have tuna? He pretty much eats anything we are having for dinner, but I just wanted to be sure that he can have tuna!

Re: Probably a silly question...

  • My doc said today, fish should be closer to a year. But so were eggs, and we've been giving Ev eggs for a couple weeks already. So, I think you're fine. The only things that were absolutely off limits were honey and whole milk.  Probably just a matter of your level of comfort.
Yea we've been giving LO scrambled eggs...I mean he has only two more months until he's one...

  • I have done a little bit of tuna and salmon, both cooked thoroughly. Her pedi said to stay away from shellfish until a year.

  • I haven't done tuna, but have done cod and tilapia.
  • Good question and it is your call really.  I know they say a year is better to wait, but really, we are close to that.  So if your think LO would like it why not give it a try sparingly.
Hey I just met you, and you're my baby. This is your family, we're kind of crazy...Lilypie Kids Birthday tickersLilypie - (tl9S)Lilypie - (zrx8)imageimageimage

  • Pedi said peanut butter, shellfish, and honey were the only things to hold off on. Alice loves tilapia. Haven't done tuna yet though.

  • I would do tuna...we've done salmon, halibut, and cod and he likes them all. Not a fan of char though!

  • I live in Maine there was no way to hold off on Lobster til a year.
  • I thought heavy metals were the concern with tuna, rather than an allergy.
