DIY Nursery Crafts

Anyone else have DIY craft ideas they want to do for their nursery eventually? Extra points for PIPs.

I love the knock off pottery barn rulers, and I plan on crafting one up once I feel up to it.

    Oh, I've been pinning these types of things for months now on a private board :)
    I've only looked at pregnancy/announcement pics and newborn photos for some reason!

    Fourth u/s 9/23/2013 - Baby A = 157 Baby B = 150 heartbeat. Cervix now 2.3-2.6 ... being referred to a MFM
    MFM Appointment 9/26/2013 = Both babies healthy, cervix now measuring at 4 - Playing tricks on me ... will follow up in 2 weeks.
    Cervical check 10/7 with regular OB - 2.1cm  --- going BACK to the MFM armed with ultrasound pictures from my OB of my cervix. *sigh*
    MFM Appointment 10/8 - confirmed my cervix at 2.1cm - putting me on Progesterone for a week.
    MFM Appointment 10/17 - Cervix unchanged! Keeping me on Progesterone - followup 10/29

    @Mcsweets I made baby food for my 2nd kiddo. I used a blender, nothing special, and froze it in a silicon mini muffin pan. Once solid, they popped right out and I stored them in Ziplocs. I enjoyed it and it saved a lot of money!

    My friend and SIL both made their own baby food. It's actually super easy since you're basically just mashing/blending simple ingredients. You can even freeze portions to use later. I plan to do it.

    For our Nursery (We are recycling) I made the following:

    For DD's nursery I did her name on the wall myself by taking 12x12 canvases and wrapping them with her bedding fabrics and then painted/attached the letters. Not rocket science but turned out really cute! 
    This is adorable!

    I plan on making my own baby food so I'm glad to hear all these tips!

    Me too! Private because we haven't shared and otherwise all my family would see all my ideas! I have a baby board and a baby shower idea board because there is so much stuff out there.

    Ive made the ruler. It super easy just takes patience. Gave it to my mom for mothersday. Now they measure all the grandkids.

    Ive also done (2yr old) babys name in 10 inch letters wrapped in fabric that matches her quilt.

    Ive made enchanted forest banner/bunting owls, rabbits, fox, raccoons. Since 2 yr old and baby will share a room.

    Ohh I love the idea of covering the monogram in fabric. So cute!

    Thanks! I used modpodge, then wrapped the edges in matte ribbon to hide scrappy edges. It looks excellent I wish I had a computer so I could put up a picture.

    I plan to make one of these on my cricut, I have an owl on my one cartridge.  I made one for my friend with a pink owl with her baby's name as a shower gift since her nursery theme was owls too! =)

    I have never heard of needle felting. What an adorable mobile idea.

    @erind0213 your Pooh stuff is so cute! I want to make some things with my cricut too. I am hoping to make my own baby food. I would like to make curtains (I want grey chevron curtains and figure it's easier to buy fabric I want and make them than to try to find the curtains). I also have an idea for a grey wreath with yellow flowers I am going to make. I already made a "paint chip craft" where I took paint chips and punched butterflies out with a punch to make monochromatic framed butterfly art (so it is rows of butterflies mounted on black paper, but each butterfly gets a shade lighter as they go). I've got some more ideas pinned on Pinterest.

    If I have a boy I'm going to print Eric Carle prints and frame them. I also saw a cute idea on Pinterest where your buy canvases, one for each letter, tape the letter and then let a child paint all over the open space. That'd be a cute way to get DS involved.

    Mrs...is your name amy or stephanie? If im going to pinterest stalk someone I want to have the right person :))
    I love all the owl/forest stuff. Stomping through the woods is one of my favorite things to do. Since we will be living in the country I think a forest nursery is appropriate. ;)
