Re: Rings or no rings

  • I took mine off a while ago and have been wearing them on a necklace.  I can still get them on but the metal has been bothering me since I've been pregnant.  I really miss wearing them!!!

  • I haven't been able to wear mine for a year now. :( I want to get them resized, but DH is convinced they'll fit when I lose weight. I think my fingers have just gotten bigger. :((

  • Oddly enough, the only time I had trouble getting them on was last weekend when it was in the very low 70s all weekend.

  • I voted SS because I had to take off my wedding band a few weeks ago but my engagement ring and the ring I wear on my right hand are still fine to wear.

  • Engagement/wedding ring are off.  I got a knock off.  I hate not wearing my rings

  • While on summer break, I only wear the wedding ring if I leave the house (and remember to put it on). Once school starts I might try to wear the wedding and engagement rings seeing as how my room is like a walk-in freezer. The wedding ring isn't the problem - its the engagement ring. It gets tight and annoying. So I will probably ditch the diamond at some point and just stick to the wedding band.

  • I think I can still take them on and off for the most part, but I've had them off for a couple weeks. When it is hot or I've been on my feet for awhile, they are harder to get off, so I decided to just leave them off for now.

  • I took them off about 2 months ago when they started getting tight and painful. I can't even get them past the knuckle now, which makes me worried I may need to get them resized even after the baby gets here.

I wear them as a necklace now. I hate not having my rings on my finger though, and I'm always afraid the chain will break and I will lose them.

  • I'm SS because I don't wear my wedding ring when I'm home all day or working out, but if I'm out around town or working, I'll wear it. It still fits fine, but when I work out, my swelling makes it wildly uncomfortable, and when I'm working around the house, I swell if I'm up and busy. I hate the feeling of a swollen finger wearing a ring, so I just don't put it on unless I'm headed out. I do love wearing it, so I am looking forward to this swelling situation to go away!

I just took my wedding rings off a few days ago. I put them on a bracelet that I wear every day. I did not put anything else on my finger. The claddagh ring I've worn on my right hand for even longer than my wedding rings is still good, so I'm still wearing it.

ETA: And I hate it. I never, ever take my rings off (sleep, working out, home, out, shower, always on). I keep freaking out thinking I lost them.

  • I said I take it on and off each day but it doesn't really fit. I can get my ring past the knuckle but that's about it, I just keep it right below the knuckle because it won't fit beyond that but the knuckle keeps it from coming off. I just got my engagement ring though so I want to be able to wear it at least for a while!!! I will probably have to put it on a chain soon.
  • Still wearing mine. I don't have any swelling which is weird because its been so hot out!

  • I've always taken mine off at night (I have no idea if most people do that...) because I don't like sleeping with them on.  So far, they are still coming off easily.  They've only been uncomfortable during a few work outs.  I think I'd feel pretty naked without them...
  • Most days I just wear my wedding band because that's a little bigger. My engagement ring gets tight on hot days so I'll skip putting it on. I always take them off at night because otherwise my skin gets irritated. My right hand ring fits ok still. It's a little tight, but not bad. I haven't had any majorly noticeable swelling. I can just tell a little when my shoes or rings are a bit tighter, Can't tell by looking.

  • My engagement ring is definitely tighter but can take it off most days. Every so often it doesn't want to come off

  • I never take mine off, but thankfully they still come off very easily. My feet are EXTREMELY swollen tonight though :P

  • I may be jinxing myself, but I haven't had any swelling with DD or this pregnancy. I have every other ailment so I guess this is a little consolation prize.

  • I voted SS. I've been wearing mine just fine until a week ago. I can still wear the wedding band fine, because it was MIL's ring and big on me at a size 6, but we never got it sized down. The engagement ring is sized about a 4.5 to fit me, and it just now got to where it's kind of hard to put on, so I've had it off the last few days and just wearing the band.

  • I took my engagement ring off a few weeks ago, but I'm still wearing my wedding ring. The two rings I wear on my right hand both came off a couple weeks ago too.

  • I'm a special snowflake.

The weather down here has been alternating from disgustingly hot and humid to a reasonable 75 degrees or so.

On days when it is hot, I take my ring off before I leave the house.

On days when the weather is more acceptable, I can keep it on.. although it does feel much tighter than it used to.  I can still get it off easily though.

  • I only just took mine off on Saturday when I finished up at work!!
  • My wedding band still fits but my engagement ring started bothering me about 20 weeks. I wear my wedding band and another ring I usually wear on my right finger, it was my DH's present to me on our honeymoon. I will hang in there till they get too tight..so far they only get tight in the evening.
  • I took mine off about a month a go and could probably force them back on if I tried but when we were trying on wedding bands I put my engagement ring on my right hand to try on with a ring in the store and it almost got stuck. I know you can have it cut off if need be and they can then fix it back together but I don't like the idea of having my ring cut so I've just been wearing it on a necklace since then. That's one of the things I'm most looking forward to: wearing them again when LO is here!
  • Had to have mine cut off!

  • I took them off a couple of weeks ago. I bought a ridiculous fake blingy one from Walmart to wear so that I don't feel naked. They didn't have much for options. Haha.

  • SS for me. I took mine off, got a replacement ring (the ONE ring. LOTR! ftw) but now I've out-swollen that ring as well on most days.

I am doing the same thing with my Claddaugh. DH got it for me before we got engaged, and it was always a bit big. Now it fits perfect.

  • I lost my wedding ring 3 hours after our wedding, I jumped into the river and my ring slipped off. We're currently in the process of paying off my new one!
  • I took them off when we were in the keys. My fingers always have swelled when it's hot. But for the most part I'm in the a/c so I can keep them on. I would hate not wearing them.
  • 42% can still wear them? Gtfo there is now way! Mine have been off since May and I am in a size 9 from my usual 7...so scared they won't fit again

  • I'm shocked I'm still wearing mine as normal. By the time I was 25 weeks with DS I was so swollen I had to wear a fake set. I love my rings, so I'm thrilled I can still wear them!

  • Unfortunately I've had terrible carpal tunnel and swelling since early on. I haven't been able to wear mine since about 25 weeks and I hate it :(
