Feeling scared and confused.

Any insight, thought, etc is appreciated. I'm new to this and posted one other time under "march 2014" blog, but thought maybe this forum was more appropriate? Idk. Let me know if there's a better place to post. Thank you. Last Saturday I went to the ER as I had a tiny bit of brown spotting the previous Thursday and I'm extra paranoid since last year I had a miscarriage ( blighted ovum ). ER doc said it was another blighted ovum My ob saw me this Monday and said to wait to jump to conclusions and scheduled me for another ultrasound today. The ER ultrasound last Saturday showed no yolk sac, no fetal pole, and irregular shaped gestational sac. Diagnois: blighted ovum. The ultrasound today saw a yolk sac, reg shaped gest sac, a fetal pole, BUT no heart beat. My levels are going up- from 42,000 last Saturday to 50,775 as of Monday this week. I measured 6w3days last sat though my LMP was June 9. Also, there appears to be blood/fluid around in the sac. Dr says again, not %100 miscarriage and definitely NOT a blighted ovum like er thought. Has anyone experienced this? Why last Saturday was my sac irregular and no fetal pole or yolk sac but today a fetal pole, yolk sac and regular shaped sac but no heart beat and blood in the sac? I'm thinking (though hoping and praying its not true)'that I'm miscarrying or soon will be. :( I'm so sad.

    I think you ovulated late and therefore the pregnancy was dated wrong. It sounds like maybe you were not as far along as you thought, hence the blighted ovum theory. I think it's a great sign that your numbers look good and you're progressing like you should. I'm not really sure what you mean by blood/fluid in the sac but I think that's just something they will have to keep an eye on. Sometimes things just can't be explained, like why they thought the shape was irregular and now it looks normal. I had some really weird stuff with my first pregnancy that several doctors were not able to explain and I have a happy, healthy one year old. I hope you are going in soon for another u/s to check again for a heartbeat. It may just be too early yet. Anyhow, I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. T&P to you.

    Thank you ktpaladino. I do think I ovulate late...but wondering if ultrasounds measure the uterus and based on that is how they decide date/how far along. I'm def hoping I'm not as far along as they are saying though. Fluid is seen in my gestational sac which my dr is saying is blood. May be that it is trying to break itself down ( miscarry) and therefore the blood is from that, or it may be a hemorrhage or smthg totally dif. Just really need to see that heartbeat on Tuesday. Thanks for your support.

    Awe, thoughts and prayers to you. I know it can be nerve racking and scary. I'm always hesitant to go to the ER because of all the incorrect diagnoses I've heard about on this board.
