Best sippy?

DD sort of takes this one:

image

But she's not great about it. Mostly she scoffs at water and juice, but will take BM when I'm not around. So I know she *can* drink from this cup if she's desperate, but I'm curious if she wouldn't be more receptive to other things if she had a different cup. I asked before about WCM, and I guess I'm also wanting to make sure that while I'm away she's using the cup that is going to transfer the best for her. Any recommendations?

Re: Best sippy?

  • We use the Tommy Tippee Explora cups without the no spill spout with some mild success. They will only drink their daily allotment of juice from it, and seem to enjoy pouring it on each others high chair trays more than anything else. Switching to "the cup" was very challenging with my older kids, and admittedly was something I didn't mind letting daycare handle! (Shameful, I am sure!) I would bet though, that if you aren't available, E will happily take her milk from whatever source she can!

  • Does it have a straw attachment?  I had something similar to that for DS where he had to tip his head back to drink and he chewed holes in the mouthpieces so I got straw sippys from Sassy. I have no idea if they still sell them as it was three years ago. They worked pretty well and I loved that you could fold the straw inside this compartment in the cup so that it would not get dirty when transporting to daycare.

    We loved these ones:

They really are nice and spill proof for a good transition. We've been using the Playtex one with a straw as well and he seems to be liking those better now that he is older. They ( the Playtex)do leak and he can spill those, but they are closer to the real thing.

  • DS has done well with the Playtex straw sippies (the insulated ones are great in the summer).  Our challenge now is that he has no interest in trying a regular cup...so that'll be something we have to deal with.

  • We like the thinkbaby ones.  They can convert to a straw cup too, which is nice because then you don't have as many cups to worry about.  Just change the sippy tops to the straw tops.

  • I have the same cups you posted and do not care for them at all.  DD has always refused a bottle (screams bloody murder when it goes near her mouth)  but we have had great success with this cup: https://www.amazon.com/NUK-Trendline-Learner-Girl-Ounce/dp/B00BEVSSDU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1375506158&sr=8-7&keywords=nuk+sippy+cups
