Still Working?

Re: Still Working?

  • I'm 37w on Friday, and still planning on working until I go L&D.  I have a desk job though, so that could be part of it.

This exactly! I'm due the 23rd and since I sit at a desk all day I see no reason (yet ) to not work til the end. More time with the baby that way!

  • Well, I only work PT and stay home with DS but my last day at my job was Tuesday when I hit 38 weeks. I don't mind if I do end up delivering late...I'm enjoying these last few weeks just the 3 of us. Plus my job is pretty flexible, so I'll still be off 6 to 8 weeks after baby's arrival.

  • With my first I worked full time up until my EDD though.

  • With DD I worked until I delivered. I had just started a new job and I think was there exactly 100 days before she was born, I wasn't eligible for my short term disability until my 90 days were up! It actually worked out great, my coworkers threw me a baby shower on a Friday, the next Monday it snowed and traffic was a nightmare so I called in, and ended up being able to get all my last minute errands done, then DD was born on Tuesday.

This time I'm not coming back to work after DS is born, so I told them next Friday would be my last day. I'm not sure if I will make it until then or not though. I will be 38 weeks 5 days and had DD at 38 weeks 4 days.
  • I work at the hospital where I am delivering so I'm working til I pop.

  • I'm working til Friday and my EDD is Saturday. Hopefully that means she'll come this weekend, anytime between Friday and her birth I have to use vacation days.

I run a summer rec program that ends one week before my due date. I'm working until then.

With DD I worked until I went into labor.

  • I'm working up until I go into labor hopefully.  although work is getting stressful and I'd kind of like that to happen now, I'm happy whenever LO decides to arrive.  I can go out two weeks before my due date without a medical reason but I don't get paid for it unless I use sick/vacation time which I'm saving for after she's here.  I plan on taking 12 weeks off so I need to save up all the time I can get.

  • 37.6 and still working! Going to try to go to my due date. My boss has been awesome and barely has me doing anything. I got to cut my hours down which has been helpful.
  • My water broke at work but I had been WFH two days a week after a dx of mild pre e a week earlier.

I've been on mat leave for 5 weeks already! It's gone so fast!

  • I'm due Saturday and am still working. I was working on-site till last Friday, and planned to keep doing so till I went into labor, but I've been having lots of false labor contractions and stabbing pains in my cervix when walking so I'm just working from home the rest of this week and will start maternity leave Monday whether the baby comes or not this weekend.
  • This is my last full week.  Next week I'm working about about half capacity.  After that, I plan to take it day by day, but I really don't want to be out of work too long before the baby comes, I'd rather have the extra time with him on the other end.  My job is not strenuous and I make my own schedule, so it's definitely doable.
  • Working 12 hour shifts in the ER until my water breaks! It's definitely not getting any easier :/
  • I'm 37 weeks and still working. I'll probably work from home in another week or so, but I plan to do that up until LO comes.
  • Still working, but started full-time telecommunting this week until baby arrives.
  • Working till baby comes or no longer able to physically do my work. I'm not uncomfortable yet and running 3-4 miles still so no reason to stop.
  • Im almost 39 weeks and stopped working almost 2 weeks ago. But it we mainly bc the swelling in my feet got so bad it would go numb throughout the day. Very glad I am home relaxing now until the baby arrives :)
  • I was going to keep working and then last week I was so uncomfortable I was going stop. Turns out it was because it was early labor. I left work 45 minutes early last Friday and that night baby girl made her arrival.

  • I'm working right up until LO comes. I have the option to work from home sometimes and have been doing so about 1 day a week. I plan to work more from home as my due date gets closer.

  • I am working straight up until the end. I want my full 12 weeks at home to be with my baby.
