Posting pics of kids' injuries

Why do people do this? I don't get it. When DS hurts himself, the last thing I think of is taking a picture and putting it on FB. The only times I've taken pictures of his injuries are when I want to show the doctor or to see if it's healing well.

Posting your own injuries, I kind of get, but I think it's super weird to post a kid's.

I took pictures, but wouldn't post them on FB.  I don't get it either.  Unless they are a little older then I might take a "look at me getting well" picture and post.
I get the "look how well I'm healing!" pictures, but I get creeped out when parents post like immediately after a kid splits his lip or something, when you can still see the tears on their cheeks.

  • I don't get it either. I don't wanna see pics of any injuries, period. Especially if there's blood involved. :-&

I posted one when Graham had to have stitches, too. In my defense, it wasn't a gory wound with blood pouring out or anything. I actually would rather see that than read a million posts about kids pooping in the potty all over my newsfeed.

  • I think there's a line between taking a picture after the child is calm and happy again versus still super upset and in pain. I don't understand taking a picture of your baby screaming in pain instead of comforting him or her.

I've never seen a bumpie post a pic of an upset and injured child.

Guilty. I did this the other day after N got hurt. I guess I've just always seen these kinds of things and it wasn't a big deal to post it. Plus, the rest of my family would be able to see it. I just think of it kind of like an update on our lives.

Your pic didn't rub me the wrong way at all, but then again I've never really thought much about pics like this. They don't bother me unless they're awful or the child seems in pain or something.
