Still Working?

How many of you ladies are working up until your little nuggets arrival? I'm at 38 weeks-- debating whether to do half days come 39 weeks.

What are you ladies doing?

Re: Still Working?

  • Continuing my 2 jobs at 7 days a week until he comes. I don't feel uncomfortable enough to stop either job early.

  • Thursday is my last day. I'll be 39 weeks on Friday.
  • I'm still working right now, with plans to do so up until my water breaks. :) I have to use sick days for maternity leave (6 weeks), so I want to save all of them for when the little guy finally gets here.

  • Working up until my water breaks/labor starts or the 16th, whichever comes first. Our company has a week shut down the week of my edd so I'm hoping I make it until then because I will receive the pay for that week.

  • My replacement starts tomorrow. I'll need to train her first but I'm hoping that doesn't take longer than 1 week and that the 8th will be my last day.

  • Im just 37 weeks and planning on Working till she comes but reduced hours starting next week. Too long of days with sciatic pain and swelling.
  • I finished work last week. Hoping he doesn't decide to show up really late!
  • Getting ready for work now. Kind of playing it by ear. However, I am taking my vacation starting tomorrow, it's only 5 days, but in order to get paid for it I have to work the shift before and following the vacation time. Lame, so I figured I'd take it now, and I'll go back once it's over and work until I go into labor.
    EVEN THOUGH, Dr. OB-crazy-pants said at my appt this week that I should really "take it easy" on working. Uhm, this is information that either a) should have been brought up about a month or so ago, so arrangements could have been made or b) requires a doctor's note, which you did not give me! STFU crazy-pants. I love you, but you drive me batty sometimes...

  • I'm working until I deliver....I would honestly go crazy sitting at home.

  • Still working too.. my last day will be the 16th. 6 days before my EDD... unless baby or doc has other plans of stopping sooner. It's getting more and more uncomfortable being at work, but like many... I need to save my days for when baby is actually here.

  • Working but taking it pretty easy :-)
    ~~~Our first little one is due on Aug. 20th 2013~~~
  • Working till I go to the hospital so I can save my days after baby arrives!
  • 39 weeks today and working until I deliver, I prefer to use my time off after LO arrives!
  • Still working, but my job is mostly mentally challenging. My managers and supervisors are worried about me because of my high BP scare a week ago, so they are CONSTANTLY asking me if I am OK...but I like it, its sweet. My pregnancy is the office entertainment right now...especially me going into labor while there...I work with a bunch of squeemish guys
  • my last day was last friday at 39 weeks. I'm not limited to the max 12 weeks off, so I gave my manager the days I will be out. I'd rather be not working than sitting at work twiddling my thumbs.
  • Still working, but fortunately not on my feet much. My last day is the 14th, 5 days before my EDD (unless she comes early!). I would work until I went into labor, but my job really needs more notice to get someone else scheduled in my position. I want as much time with LO as possible, and I only get 12 weeks of leave no matter when she shows up.
  • Finishing up teaching summer school tomorrow and I'm 38 weeks.  I think I'll be skipping the professional development days since they start on the 12th and I'm due on the 14th.  I only get 6 weeks with the LO since I'm a new employee so I'm going to take as much Rn'R as I can!
  • 36 weeks today and still working full time. I plan on working until the week I am due so I can use all my time for maternity leave although I admit its getting harder and harder to go everyday!
  • I'll be working until I go in to deliver. I will probably be working again the day I get home from the hospital since we own our own business. I'm the administrator, and I will probably have tons of emails to catch up on. Fun fun.
  • My last day of work is Friday, I live in CA so we get time before baby is born without eating up our time after baby is born, and I am 39 weeks today. If I had to work longer I could but am very grateful that I don't have to.
  • 39+4, still working full time.. Physically I'm here but I mentally checked out weeks ago. .. Same boat--saving every minute I can to spend with the little guy when he finally decides to show up.  Government employee-Only option is unpaid leave or use my saved leave.
          I'm not going to lie, it really sucks being this uncomfortable and anxious.
  • I'm almost 38 weeks and I plan to work up until our daughter arrives, or the dr. tells me not to, I'm trying to save all my time for when the baby is here and I'm afraid if I start leave early then she'll decide to come late and I will have less time with her.
  • RCS is scheduled for the 13th and I am working until the 12th... unless LO makes a surprise appearance in the meantime.
    Still working, but mostly from home at this point. I think my last day will be Friday. I hope little guy joins us soon, but I'm also looking at it as an opportunity to spend time with J before his little brother arrives.
  • If we find out today that we're inducing, I'll work until the day before we're going in. So if I'm told we're going next Tuesday, I'm taking that Monday off. Otherwise, I'll be here until I feel too crummy to stay.
  • Does it count as "working" if I spend 1/2 my day bumping??? ;)
    I am working until the baby comes out or the doc says otherwise. The drive is the worst part, but as long as I can work, we really need the paycheck.
  • Still on my feet most of the day with 80 kids in a hot school building.
    As of now the plan is to work until my due date, the 8th. HR needed me to give them a date just to have so I went with that. If I go overdue I will see how I'm feeling come my due date and if I can suck it up a few more days I will.
  • I'm done work tomorrow!  Hooray!
  • I will work up until I go into labor. If I stop working before I'll just be sitting at home doing nothing and letting the wait drive me BSC. My leave is all unpaid so I don't want to waste it on time before she's here.
    With DS, my water broke at work. I tied up a few things and left at the end of that day.
  • I am still working as well, I will be off after the Friday before my due date (Sunday 8/18), if LO doesn't come early. My work has a cap on the max number of vacation hours you can bank and at that point I wont be able to bank more so I will just start my maternity leave.
  • 36w and still working here, with plans to do so up until I go into labor. My leave situation is complicated, my desk job is comfortable, and I'm not having any complications, so there's no valid reason for me not to keep working.
    That being said, my project is stalled and I don't have a ton to do and even with no complications, being 8 months pg isn't exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. I suppose I should just be grateful to be drawing a paycheck and health insurance without having to do a lot of work. But I do wish I could stay home where I'm most comfortable and take care of to do list items. It's frustrating to come in for the sake of coming in.
