Ice tastes nasty...anybody else

In the last five days or so I have not been able to have any water with ice. It started with ice water from my refrigerator and then I discovered it was just the ice. It is almost like a metallic taste. I have thrown the ice away three times. Cleaned out the ice maker. Nothing has helped. It is now ice from other places too. Has this happened to anybody else? Could this be an early sign?

Is your ice tasting bad a sign of pregnancy??? I doubt it, but that's a new one for sure!

no I'm really not. My RE said it could be when I saw him today. Just wondering if anybody else had the same thing.

Yes, definitely a more reliable pregnancy sign than peeing on an HPT. Congrats!

Yep. I just don't put ice in anything anymore.

Eta: holy crap how did I miss this was a sign of pregnancy.

I had a terrible metal taste in my mouth a few days before I found out I was pg with DS #1 and it lasted a couple weeks...so who knows!

Sometimes when I accidentally leave a bag of chicken open in my freezer the ice tastes like chicken.

Yes, it's an early sign of eating too much ice.

I don't think a sign of pregnancy has anything to do with having funky water in your ice. IF a metallic taste was a symptom, don't you think it would be a general metallic taste and not just being biased towards your ice cubes?

It could be but the only way you will know is with a positive HPT. Relax. Folks are having fun with your question because it is a little bit ridiculous. We can't tell you if your particular symptom is a pregnancy early sign. We just don't have the ability. The only thing we can tell you is that you need to take a pink-dye HPT.

My H can't have ice most places for the same reason, possibly it's that most ice even if it's made of filtered water, comes from your city system. If it's really hot where you are certain algaes can give water a funky taste, I know there's been issues with it is Austin, that some people just can't drink. I'm a tap water girl, my H has a filter in the fridge. That might help. I get metallic tastes in my mouth sometimes but there rarely seems to be rhyme or reason. I hope your RE comes back with good results, but is there any reason you can't POAS in the meantime? First Responses are really sensitive.

My parent's ice cubes taste metallic to me. I always smell ice before I use it because some people's ice grosses me out, its just how it freezes in certain fridges, and FYI no one else can taste or smell it. I am also def not pregnant.
